I agree but wish they had ended it as a trilogy.

Stranger on Horseback [1955]. Director: Jacques Tourneur

6/10

Joel McCrea as a judge who rides into a Western town to bring the local bigwig's murdering son to justice. Unfortunately shot in Anscocolor (Agfa) which is all garish reds and greens.

Annie [2014]. Director: Will Gluck

4/10

Feeble updated remake with a few extra songs from Sia.

Been in a Chris Evans mood today so I've watched his directorial debut Before We Go today, and then The Losers.

"Your Name" (Kimi no na wa)
Would have preferred the Japanese soundtrack with English subs but never mind, the English dub is really good.

Best film I've seen all year. Phenomenal.

Its Dec 1st so just watched Love Actually, and love how its now so old it feels even more classic...Sugababes on the soundtrack, Ant and cameoing on that thing we used to call Saturday Morning Kids TV...and a general upbeat 'whats a credit crunch?' feel

Elstree 1976

Film documentary about the lives of the extras and bit-part actors who were cast in Star Wars. What was supposed to be a weekends work on a goofy sci-if film turned into them being involved in one of the biggest movies ever. Now many of them are on the convention circuit now, making money and touring the world!

Lovely, Still.

Good but definitely not the feel good Christmas film I thought it was going to be.

Black Christmas 1974...8/10...classic pre Scream slasher classic

Independence Day Resurgence 2016...7/10..dissapointing compared with the classic 1996 movie...no Will Smith ..poor confusing script very slow to start.. too much CGI ..has its moments though ..reminds me of the film Battleship ! Dr Oken is so funny ! has the best comic lines !

Been remade so it's had some recognition now, but still think it's the unappreciated slasher movie, and possibly the first, and why?

hey they picked the wrong holiday much easier to go for halloween or Friday the 13th, but Christmas not really the right time.

Fair few scenes in it that were ripped off later on in other films.

Previous to that The Big Short was really good and my surprise of the year so far has been The Hunt for the Wilder People, absolutely brilliant. Looking forward to catching Arrival and Dr Strange before it leaves the cinema. Actually might even do that tonight.

Worst film of the year Now You See Me 2. What a huge let down after the first being very original and well worth using up the credit on my vue card.”

I watched Now You See Me (the first ) again tonight as it was on TV - I always enjoy it. It's an OTT blast, has an old feel about it despite the special effects. I enjoy Mark Ruffalo and and Jesse Eisenburg, Morgan Freeman's over-the-top bitter magician and Woody Harrelson's quirky humour. Great fun.

Point Break (2015)

Ugh, what an utterly joyless stinker this is. I'm a massive fan of the original, and I went into this with an open mind. The stunt scenes are admittedly spectacular in this version, but the story is incomprehensible, the actors just awful (Ray Winstone excluded) and the characters they portray are the most humourless, miserable and nasty bunch ever. They are supposed to be enjoying themselves doing their extreme sports but you wouldn't think so. The ending is inane. Avoid. 2/10 (one for the stunts, one for Ray)
