The Hateful Eight - 3/10

Crock.

Here's an idea. Have somebody in the film that you care about.

Did you watch that on Amazon Prime? As, I just did.

As for the film, hmmm, it has its moments - but far too long and it lacks focus. I can't help but think that had QT cut down at least 1 hour and 40 minutes, and spent more time on the script and getting the characters and plot more tightly woven together, then it would have made a much better movie.

It does seem to be a big problem with QT's recent films - far too long, and whilst interesting moments - not enough in there.

Ghostbusters (2016) 6.5/10

Not a great movie by any means, but nowhere near as bad as some critics would like you to think it is.

I did. I was quite surprised to see it on Prime so quick.

No way does the new Ghostbusters surpass the original.
And no I am not some anti- feminist nostalgic fanboy.

Last film I watched was Airplane - 5/10

Dirty Grandpa- It's all been done before and offered nothing new but it wasn't too bad for a quick watch 6.5/10

Midnight Special-I enjoyed this. A little similar to the Netflix series Stranger Things which I loved 7.5/10

Arrival (2016) Alien invasion drama, it ain't Close Encounters but as scifi i enjoyed it more than ID2 ( very low bar!!), suffered a bit for me from over expectation, Hollywood films have been so terrible over the last couple of years that any reasonable film is hyped to death. It was nicely shot and Forest Whitaker looked as if he trying to "empathise" with the Aliens like in Species every time he paused speaking Overall an attempt to make a scifi film having an across the sex's appeal and i think it probably worked. 6.5/10

I've just got round to watching Not Another Teen Movie. Considering it's a spoof of the type of movie I really hate I quite enjoyed watching it. A little cringe-worthy in places but on the whole it's not too bad!

Just finished watching The Conjuring. I like scary films and hought it'd be more frightening than it was from seeing promo videos. Can't beat the original and best - The Exorcist. Great film.

Office Christmas Party (2016)

The usual Horrible Bosses, The Change Up esque. Jason Bateman and Jennifer Anniston etc. fare. A bit like the Seth Rogen crew but not as rude.

Well I was pleasantly surprised and found this quite enjoyable.

3/5

Hyde Park on Hudson. Entertaining watchable film, ,about king George meeting president Roosevelt, partly back referencing The King's Speech. Not a masterpiece, but nowhere near as bad as lots of very nasty reviews in usa. Only roger ebert gave a decent review. Partly due to subject matter, although, based on fact.
