The Graduate
I think it's the first time that I've seen it all the way through. The first half is better. 8/10

Really enjoyed it. Had echoes of Blomkamp's first movie "District 9" with some of the themes. I also think, as with that movie, that Blomkamp is getting first rate special effects from whoever is doing them. I'm excited to see what he would do with his mooted Alien picture.
Agreed its better than pretty much all the big blockbusters this year though I did like MI5,

Self Less -started well then turned into a poor scifi bourne rip off 5/10
]Southpaw - avoids the boxing movie cliches for a while but succumbs in the end 7/10

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty -The danny kaye one.

Recorded this last week. I watched it many times when I was young and it hasn't been on telly for ages. I still enjoyed it as much as I ever did. Don't fancy the remake though

Have you not seen the recent remake ? I kinda loved it, the music during the #### scene was particularly - Don't know how it compares to the original but for me I'd only tweak one thing.

Serenity (2005)

Although this film is a decade old, I've only now got around to seeing it. It's a pretty good and entertaining sci-fi adventure.

Verdict = 8/10

Sneakers 8/10
Robert Redford, Dan Aykroyd, Sidney Poitier, Ben Kingsley and
Mary McDonnell, River Phoenix as a bunch of 'security experts'
who test security for large companies, by breaking through their
existing security and then suggesting better measures.
Kingsley, as the villain of the piece, has little more than an extended
cameo really; Redford and the rest make up for it, with a light hearted
casual romp, through a ludicrous (but entertaining!) plot. And a quick
cameo from James Earl Jones at the end too! For two hours of light
escapism, what's not to like? I believe it didn't do too well at the cinema
on release, but for me, good fun and an almost forgotten little gem!

Hard To Be a God. (2013)

If you come to this based on the 'sci-fi' synopsis you will be extremely disappointed. However, if you come to this as fan of long and ponderous European cinema it is a masterpiece.

10/10 (A masterpiece)

Left Behind 3: World at War

I'm a tad partial to these rapture films and the first two were interesting in a low budget, dodgy acting way, but this instalment is terrible. The acting is ropey, the effects really poor and worst of all, the main characters of the first two films are reduced to extras. Instead, the movie focuses on the President of the USA carrying out covert missions to investigate what is going on.

Verdict = 3/10 (but still better than the Nic Cage effort)

The Human Stain - 6/10

Anthony Hopkins plays a college professor, who upon quitting his job after being accused of racism and losing his wife, forms a relationship with Nicole Kidman. Both of them have long-lasting secrets from their past.

The Joneses - 5/10

David Duchovny and who I firmly believed was Courtney Cox but is actually Demi Moore, are the heads of a upper middle class family living the American Dream that aren't what they seem.

It's a decent film but I doubt you'd want to watch it again unless you're a particular fan of Amber Heard, who displays her rack.

The Avenger: Age Of Ultron.

Rollocking good super-hero stuff. Whedon once again manages to capture the spirit of the comic on-screen, with numerous subplots going on throughout the main adventure. The fight scenes remind me of being a young comic fan and the excitement I'd get reading such scenes,

7.5 out of 10.
