Some film on CH4 on Saturday night about marines shooting aliens on the beach. To be honest I was wasted so I can't rate it.
Also some shit about Nicolas Cage in the rapture which I turned over. It says something when you'd rather watch ITV1 than a film. 2/10 |

Silent House - 4/10
Fairly formulaic home invasion psycho-thriller. Not the kind of film I like but I'd watch a Jedward biopic if Liz Olsen was in it ![]() The Maze Runner - 3/10 Not much happens to the beautiful people of the post-apocalypse. The actual escape is a poor, blink-and-you'll-miss-it 3 minute effort. Dull sequel bait. (yes, I'm aware it's a series of YA books but still...) (I had to give Hunger Games a couple of extra views and I have gotten better with it since, so maybe I'll revise late?) |

Stunning cinematography and piles on the sense of doom throughout. 8/10 The Manchurian Candidate [2004] Not as good as I remember. I have seen the original, a long time ago, maybe that's not as good as I remember either?! 6/10 |

Terminator Genisys (2015) -10/10 (minus 10 out of 10)
I want to find the people involved, swipe them with my dueling glove and demand satisfaction! I feel that insulted by the film.

Dumb and Dumber to 4/10
I would imagine that this film made a huge profit as there are no signs of expenditure. |

Wild Tales [2014]
Strangely enough this reminded me of Charlie Brooker's 'Black Mirror' minus the Sci-Fi... and in Spanish. 8/10 |

X + Y (A Brilliant Young Mind) 2014 9/10
Asa Butterfield gives a fantastic portrayal of an autistic boy with a talent for maths, based on the story of Daniel Lightwing (featured in the BBC documentary Beautiful Young Minds). The film shows the young Nathan, his story of his relationship with his family and how he came to participate in the International Mathematics Olympiad. It's great to see a decent portrayal of the complexities of autism. This film is heart-warming, fantastically acted - his mother is played so well by Sally Hawkins and his teacher by Rafe Spall. Enjoyed it very much. |

Beginners - 5/10
Ewan McGregor plays a man struggling to come to terms with his father's terminal cancer, and the death of his mother not long before. Since the mother's death, the father has come out as gay and is in a relationship. During all this, McGregor forms a relationship with a travelling actress. |
