The Visit
It's terrible, not as bad as 'Lady in the Water', but still terrible; it's probably more annoying than 'Lady in the Water', but it is shorter. 3/10

Romeo & Juliet [2013]. Director: Carlo Carlei

6/10

A Downtoned version rewritten by Julian Fellowes. The Italian locations are fabulous but Hailee Steinfeld is out of her depth in the lead role.

*******
The Reluctant Fundamentalist [2012]. Director: Mira Nair

7/10

Another 9/11 movie though here it serves as the stimulus for Riz Ahmed's whizz kid Pakistani businessman in New York to become radicalised after suffering discrimination in its wake.

*******
Whispers: An Elephant's Tale [2000]. Director: Dereck Joubert

5/10

Some wonderful wildlife photography ruined by being moulded into an adventure tale with the elephants voiced by the likes of Angela Bassett and Joanna Lumley.

Black Mass 9/10. Could have been up there with Goodfellas if they'd have shown them when they were younger and maybe a bit of court action at the end.

Jurassic World

Entertaining popcorn flick, decent way to pass a couple of hours. As good as the previous sequels anyway

7/10
The Ambassador

Man Up (2015) 7/10

Above average romantic comedy. Lake Bell steals the film at every opportunity.

Mr Nobody (2009) 8/10

A very old man telling the story of his life, including the outcomes of alternate paths.

Bizarre, but very engaging and visually brilliant

Mission:Impossible - Rogue nation

Entertaining enough caper that presses all the usual buttons, and Tom is in full cruise control throughout. Yet an odd lethargy hangs over it, like Ghost Protocol without its sparky beat. 6.5/10

Insidious 3

Things that go meh in the night. 4/10

'Brief Encounter' (1945) no rating

A suburban woman (Celia Johnson) contemplates an affair with a doctor (Trevor Howard) met by chance on a train platform.

Classic movie very much part of British national heritage.

A 7.5/10 really? A Seth MacFarlane swearfest not in the least bit funny. For me a 4/10 at best.

The Heat [2013]. Director: Paul Feig

6/10

Sandra Bullock as a know-it-all FBI agent teaming up with Melissa McCarthy's crude Boston cop. Amusing comedy destined for a sequel when director Feig finishes the Ghostbusters re-make.

*******
The Prince and the Pauper [1962]. Director: Don Chaffey

6/10

Actually a 3 part story for Disney's TV series stitched together into an enjoyable feature version of the Mark Twain tale.

The Lost World 2/10 ......this is the Patrick Bergan one not the classic 60s movie ...bad acting poor script ...in fact the Dinosaurs acting was less wooden

Battleship 5/10 ...... again terrible acting and poor script ..it had its moments but tried unsuccessfully to emulate Independance Day / Transformers and Predator ..and was a poor imitation of a combination of these films !

An American Werewolf in London

Hugely entertaining comedy horror that hasn't aged a day. Sly, irreverent, pop-fast and, underneath, very clever. 9/10

Agree classic comedy horror flick... ...loved the inept cops ! ..and .has retained its dark edged creepy feel over the years !
