Woman In Gold 7.5/10. Helen Mirren plays a Jewish woman who fights the Austrian authorities with the help of her lawyer played by Ryan Reynolds to reclaim the beloved painting by Gustav Klimt of her aunt Adele which was stolen by the nazis from her family.

Criss Cross (1949) 8/10
Burt Lancaster deceived by everybody and everything in a heist gone wrong. Robert Siodmak really knew his directing. |

Mona Lisa
We used to have this film on video, and I had forgotten just what a brilliant movie this is. An absolutely wonderful story fabulously played, with a few laughs, a fair amount of nasties, some really likeable characters and some who are just pure evil personified, but all believable, and a fairly emotional rollercoaster with quite a few tears. 9/10 |

Life of Pi
Really good fantastical tale which I imagine would be even more visually stunning on big screen. The cgi was excellent although I thought the tiger looked too small in comparison to Pi. 8.5/10 |

I couldn't even finish it. Lasted 45 minutes.
but i was really struggling with this ..... it makes JACK RYAN and I FRANKENSTEIN oscar worthy ![]() god, where do i start ..... utterly devoid of ONE dimensions, let alone 3 dimensions, and a great pity that one fancy camera shot at the beginning was all but forgotten! the action was at best tepid, even the car chase was slow, but the end was kind of fun when they went underneath as for the injokes from the original, they just came and went, but again kinda liked the "two weeks" bit and basically the two leading ladies IDENTICAL was a gigantic mistake also there was ZERO REACTION to anything that happened to quaid, even him pulling out his handphone lead to little more than a typical farrel face growl as if he'd been stung by a syphalitic wasp ![]() and as in I FRANKENSTEIN, bill nighy must be wishing that a bloated big budget special effects movie script doesn't come through his door ever again ![]() everything ..... EVERYTHING was worthless in this disaster ..... except the production design, they always pull it off, that's who i gave the solitary one point too ![]() couldn't wait to delete it from my skybox |

My Left Foot - About the true story of Chrsity Brown who was born in a working class family and had cerebal palsy who could paint and write using his foot. Very powerful central performance from Daniel Day-Lewis.
7/10 Police Academy - Slapstick 80s fun about police recruits. Though there are a few politically incorrect remarks about homosexuality and race that are annoying. 6/10 |

You gave Police Academy 6 and My Left Foot only 7?
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But anyway, I wouldn't put too much consideration into ratings as much as what people actually say about the movies they watch. I think the central performance of My Left Foot elevates what is a fairly ordinary film. I wasn't moved by it in any way. |
