Me too! I remember my uncle taking me to see this when it first came out (I was very much in love with Richard Dreyfuss at the time). The David Gates theme song was lovely too.

Space Cowboys - It was alright, but I don't think I'd watch it again. I actually found it less entertaining once their mission began.

Her (2013) Was a great film..unsettling moments but beautiful at times..I can see the future turning out this way as folk get more into AI and less communicative towards each other.another great Spike Jonze..(however he spells his name) film. It was a good story..

Dodgeball: a true underdog story. It's been a good 10 years since I saw this and still very funny. Ben Stiller's character is basically the same character as he played in Heavyweights (a complete weirdo!) - but very funny. 9/10 more

Kingdom of Heaven starring Orlando Bloom (Director's Cut). A very long film but with good moments. B

I found the lead character quite unlikable although I enjoyed the premise of the film. It's one I need to re-visit as I may feel differently

The Last Days on Mars [2013]. Director: Ruairi Robinson

6/10

Scientist on Mars finds bacterial life. Unfortunately it turns him into a zombie. Like a 15-rated feature-length Doctor Who episode. The BFI chucked lottery money into this one.

*******
Herbie Goes Bananas [1980]. Director: Vincent McEveety

4/10

And the franchise starts to sink (literally in one scene).

Albert Nobbs - Via iPlayer. Not bad, but I felt that nobody would have actually believed that either of them were men.

Yeah I wasn't too keen on the lead at first..then I started feeling sorry for him..then empathising with him..then..lol a lot of changing opinions I had during
the film! Picked the dvd in Morrisons for a
fiver..just because tv was rubbish. .and
Spike Jonze..I thought it had potential.
.will definitely watch it again myself

Back on topic. .

Flowers in the Attic. .the newer one..
6/10 Was entertaining enough and stuck
to the plot of the book..I thought Heather Graham did a good job..Although I can't help think the earlier film was better..been about 20 years since I read the books also.

Insurgent 8/10 Action packed adventure and now we're seeing more to the story. .looking forward to the next film..only beef I have as I would like more story and less action. .I haven't read the books. .my daughter has and a good job was done in her opinion. .in fact she said some parts of the film were better than the book..haven't heard that view of books to film before!

Well yeah. It's vastly underrated on IMDB and there's a lot of negativity toward it online. A shame, as it's something truly remarkable imo

Angels with Dirty Faces (1938).
Watched it as a teenager and loved it - Its timeless and James Cagney is pure class. As well as the Dead End Kids!

Highly recommended.

Angels With Dirty faces is excellent. I love some of the other old Cagney films, too. White Heat, Public Enemy............. but my favourite of the lot is The Roaring Twenties.

Anyway, on -topic..........

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Great entertainment. Glad I made the effort to go to the cinema for this.

I watched Beasts of No Nation on Netflix today. Bloody excellent film with some very clever cinematography. Depressing but powerful. Superb performance by the boy actor Attah.

It's based on a true story so they must have.

It's an adaptation of a work of fiction, so the characters never actually existed. There have been other real life cases where women have successfully disguised themselves as men, but there was never one called Albert Nobbs.

However, my point is that I was never convinced that the charcaters on screen were men, and I don't think the other characters in the film would have been fooled either.
