Very overrated in my opinion.
I've tried to watch it once before when it had not long come out and I didn't get it at all. I didn't even finish the film.

If there was nothing else on I would probably watch it again but it wouldn't be the first film that I would select if I was going to choose a DVD.

Shame staring Michael Fasbender & Carey Muligan, very powerful acting from both Michael & Carey.

Braveheart, a film I loved and watched many times when it came out in the 90s. But i lasted half an hour this time. I found it slow, with dodgy accents and poor direction and acting and mel gibson just annoyed me. It didn't work for me at all and i turned it off Strange, I used to think it was great.

Last Passenger [2013]. Director: Omid Nooshin

6/10

Runaway train time, on a trip to Tunbridge Wells.

*******
Amistad [1997]. Director: Steven Spileberg

7/10

Spielberg does his slavery film. Looks great but lacks bite.

*******
White House Down [2013]. Director: Roland Emmerich

3/10

A bunch of right wing nutters walk into the White House, take it over, start World War 3, but are thwarted by an 11 year old girl and her daddy. Really stupid movie with computer game quality CGI.

The Long Goodbye (1973) 10/10

Private detective Philip Marlowe (Elliott Gould) adrift in 1970s Los Angeles, battling against forces he does not understand.

The private investigator depicted as someone that lives outside of time itself. Perfect film.

The Godfather PtIII. Not as good as the first two but nowhere near as bad as the critics made out at the time. Well, apart from Sofia Coppola's acting, lol. Still engrossing though and I liked the plotline involving the Vatican Banking scandal and the murder of Pope John Paul I. The first 2 Godfather films though are second to none.

Trainwreck. I thought it was boring and not very funny. It had some funny parts with John Cena and Lebron James, but it was poor overall. Tilda Swindon went by completely unrecognised by me. She can really transform herself with a few simple changes.

I don't really know what to rate it. 5/10 maybe. I was waiting for it to finish.

ZERO DARK THIRTY - 7/10
too long and bland
I watched it the other night on TV too, I agree with you. All I could think at the end was what a waste of money (the film and the mission to kill UBL!).

I certainly couldn't understand all the accolades for Jessica Chastain's performance, I found her bland too.

I recently re-watched Godfather 3 for the first time since it was first released. I enjoyed the re-watch much more than the original viewing, and I will definitely re-watch it again at some point. Maybe I have a bit more patience now than I had back then.

i just took this as a,pastiche. Marlowe being unable to cope with 70s LA ......."thats ok by me " but it is very entertaining ......

Jurassic World (2015)

Hardly a blockbuster. More like a busted block!

CGI was disappointing. Acting average. Characters...meh...

Kids wooden. Hero bland. Villain, boring.

Heroine, a cartoon.

Forgettable.

Just scrapes 6/10

Amnesiac (2015)

A sort of horror/thriller/suspense thing. Slow but intriguing start, a slow middle but a surprising ending.

Has shades of Misery to it.

6/10.

Tangled - 6.5/10
Funnier than I though it would be. The singing scene in the pub had me in stitches.

Gone girl - 7/10 - was good but nothing special, a bit overrated for me.

Martyrs - 9/10, very good although a bit hard to watch at times

It was on ITV Christmas Day 2012 I think. I watched it with my now late mum.

We were both surprised how good the film was. Nice memories.

Solaris (2002) - Well acted snooze-fest. Not something I'd willingly sit through again.

Death Proof - Some of it was alright, but I ended up fast forwarding part of the second half where they were just blathering on about nowt. Another one I won't be watching again.

Like my granddad who, when he read a boring book, used to skip chapters.

He somehow thought that was okay to continue reading.

Judgement Day: The John List story. One of those made-for-TV films, therefore terrible acting and worse directorship but it passed the time - 4/10

"Gone Girl"

It was my second viewing and I loved it just as much as the first time. I enjoyed this one particularly in the cinema.

In the case of Death Proof there isn't really any sort of storyline to follow, though.
