Drive Hard [2014]. Director: Brian Trenchard-Smith

4/10

Failed racing driver working as driving instructor on Australia's Gold Coast gets caught up in tedious car chases when John Cusack's bank-robber uses him as his getaway driver.

*******
13 Hrs [2010]. Director: Jonathan Glendening

4/10

Country house, bunch of attractive young people, full moon, werewolf, carnage

*******
The Wolf of Wall Street [2013]. Director: Martin Scorsese

7/10

Fast-paced true-ish story of a dodgy stock-broker getting super rich and spending it on a hedonistic lifestyle of sex, drugs, flashy cars and a yacht. Far too sympathetic to the bastard, as played by Scorsese regular Leonardo DiCaprio.

*******
Frontera [2014]. Director: Michael Berry

6/10

Kids taking potshots at a couple of illegal Mexican immigrants accidentally kill an American woman. The Mexicans get the blame and it's left to ex-cop Ed Harris, as the victim's husband, to sort things out. Contrived but well-meaning.

A View To A Kill - The only James Bond film I hadn't seen all the way through, and I still haven't seen it all because I got bored with it long before the end, and gave up. Campy crap/10.

Fantastic Four - No worse than the majority of Marvel Films, but that isn't any kind of praise.

SPECTRE

What a terrible disappointment.

Surprisingly boring, weak plot, weak villain, poor action scenes, lacked spectacle. Cant find much positive to say other than the first 10 minutes was good.

Daniel Craig's weakest by a mile.

4/10 (generous)

Breaking Glass 1980

A bit of a blast from the past, which I'd watched in the 80's and half enjoyed. This time I liked it more, probably from a nostalgic angle.

Amazing how many famous actors make an appearance.

7/10 for the entertainment.

The Lady In The Van (2015)
A lacklustre film, of (I.M.O) a very poor book.

Grimsby 8/10, brilliant comedy Spy spoof kind of thing, some parts were actually filmed in Grimsby as well, kind of nostalgic for me as I lived over there for nearly 2 years in my College days.

The Dark Crystal (Film 4) 9/10, one of the best of the plethora of Jim Henson's Creature Workshop films of the early 80s, if not THE best one.

Finally got round to watching Milk today which I recorded ages ago. What a fantastic, powerful and poignant film, Sean Penn puts in an amazing performance.
9.5/10.

The Black Balloon - 9/10

It follows a young man and his family coping with an adult, severely autistic son as well as a baby on the way.

It's quite harrowing at times, and one of the few films/TV shows I've seen that is realistically "gritty" but there are some light moments too. A generally fantastic film IMO.

Deadpool - humour was a bit juvenille for me and stripped of that didn't think there was much else to it. It's certainly nowhere near as genre busting as Kick Ass.

6.5/10
