The Green Mile - 8/10
I've never seen it before. It was too long and sentimental but I did cry seven times so go figure! 😄 |

10 Cloverfield Lane - would have been better without the 'Cloverfield' mystery tag as a conventional thriller, the final act lets it down... 6.5/10 a lot to like here though performance wise and very tense in places....

Danny Collins 4/10
Very poor and implausible. I find it astonishing that somebody actually sat down a wrote this story. |

Veronica Mars [2014]. Director: Rob Thomas
6/10 Big screen follow-up to the TV series about a teenage (now 30-something) private eye. ******* Syrup [2013]. Director: Aram Rappaport 4/10 Feeble comedy set in the world of marketing, obviously taken from a novel. ******* Powder Room [2013]. Director: M.J. Delaney 7/10 Screen adaptation of the play "When Women Wee", set it a nightclub toilet. |

Tangerine (2015)
Indy film about a day in the lives of two transvestites in Los Angeles, on Christmas eve. Funny and sometimes touching. Apparently filmed using 2 iPhone 6s, although really you could not tell ! |

Point Break (remake) , well I was never fond of the original so . . . well it's got some decent footage of extreme sports , that's about it .

The Great Beauty (Italy - 2013)
An ageing socialite looks back on his life. Visually extraordinary art-house remake (I think) of La Dolce Vita. Rome filmed like never before - even by Fellini. If I can ever afford 4k definition equipment this is the film I will buy. It is what cinema was invented for. |

A View To A Kill - 2/10
Potentially the worst Bond effort. Moore is so old that he creeks, but spends half the time shagging women who are young enough to be his daughter. Terrible acting, woeful damsel in distress characterisation and corny action scenes. |

Inside Out.
9/10 Incredibly clever. The only downsides were it has big shoes to fill after a string of clever animations, becomes slightly too predictable and younger kids probably won't get quite a bit of it. |

The Big Sky [1952]. Director: Howard Hawks
5/10 Kirk Douglas trading with Indians in the old, old west of 1832. ******* Cheap Thrills [2013]. Director: E.L. Katz 6/10 A guy who's lost his job and home meets a weird couple in a bar who offer him money to take part in a series of dares that soon turn from silly to sinister. ******* Green Street [2005]. Director: Lexi Alexander 3/10 Elijah Wood, desperate to escape the Frodo image, stars in this ridiculous film about West Ham football hooligans. |

The Martian - 9/10 - Really enjoyed this film and despite being over 2 and half hours it never felt it. Watched it in 4k as well and it looked amazing.
MI Rogue Nation - 8/10 - Apart from MI 2 I have really liked all of these films, this was no different. I know some people were not a huge fan of Simon Pegg but he brought some good humour to the film for me. |

Body Heat (1981) - Pretty good film. Not a very good DVD (especially the sound quality).

Sometimes these b/w films are better than coloured ones. |
