Friend Request - 6/10 wasn't a bad thriller/horror movie, reminded me of an episode of Catfish

The Man from Uncle (2015). Hmm. As someone who used to greatly enjoy the TV series back in the 60's I was prepared for a disaster. It didn't seem to have much connection to the original other than a few character names, but then my wife said it might be more enjoyable if we forgot it was called 'The Man from Uncle' and just regarded it as a 'cheap comedy/thriller from Guy Richie'. From that point on it was great fun.
Best thing was the music - some great tracks.

Either 3/10 or 8/10, depending how you approach it.

Landmine goes click - kept me interested but quite shoddily made looks like it was edited with Windows movie maker in parts and at least 20 minutes too long. 6/10

Spectre 6/10

Captain America - 7/10. Took a while to get going, I went with my 12 year old son who lived it. Both thought that Spider Man and Ant Man were great.

Zoolander 2 - liked the original but this was pretty dire. 4/10

The Westerner [1940]. Director: William Wyler

8/10

If the western didn't exist it would have been necessary to create the genre just so Walter Brennan could play Judge Roy Bean in this. He won as Oscar as best supporting actor to the also wonderful Gary Cooper.

Captain America: Civil War. It's basically Avengers 3. Good fun, albeit a bit on the long side.

Jupiter Ascending - I'm a big fan of the Wachowskis, I admired the ambition of Cloud Atlas and am one of the few people who acknowledge that there is such a thing as The Matrix trilogy. This however was poor throughout bar a few interesting action scenes. A cross between the poor elements of Star Wars and a Terry Gilliam film (I don't like Gilliam).

3/10

Dazed and Confused - Coming of age drama about how 'cool' the 70s were. Didn't do anything for me.

4/10

Spooks: The Greater Good - More of the same from the TV series, with a bigger budget.

7/10

Catch .44 [2011]. Director: Aaron Harvey

6/10

Tarantino r̶i̶p̶-̶o̶f̶f̶ homage starts with a Mexican stand-off and fills in the back story with flash-backs.

I Am Wrath (2016)

I am shit more like!

Travolta does Taken, with his plastic wig delivering the best performance.

The Danish girl. 3/10

Man with mental health problems treats his wife dreadfully but is revered a hero because he's gay. Brilliant...

The Martian - 9/10

Much more enjoyable than expected.

Deadpool - 9/10

About as enjoyable as I expected.

Spectre - 6/10

Daniel Craig needs to go.

Star Wars: The Fore Awakens - 8/10

Good, but lacking something.

Hitman: Agent 47 - 7/10

Fun, but still nothing like the games.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo [2011]. Director: David Fincher

7/10

The Swedish film did it better - and finished off the trilogy.

Terminator Genisys - 6.5/10

Whilst I agree with most of the criticisms, I quite enjoyed it. I thought Emilia Clark was particularly good as Sarah Connor, actually quite liked Arnie in it too I think they made the best of what they had. T2 will always be my favourite of the series, just the perfect action film.

Dirty Grandpa,
Yet another film where the writers think gross out humour and constant swearing make for a hilarious time ..... It doesn't

I have to stop you their. not gay, not really trans either..... Intersex, I suppose.

I felt the she was too complicated a character to really win over, or helpful to the layperson.

As a trans person, I wish the film wasn't as high-profile as it was.
