'Flypaper'.

Fairly stupid comedy film about two separate gangs who try to rob a bank at the same time. Things start to go painfully wrong and it turns into an Agatha Christie 'whodunnit'. Its a strange B movie that tries to be Coen-esque, but you just end up feeling embarrassed for the actors.
Ashley Judd looks good in that suit though.

The Nice Guys - reminded me a lot of of Shane Blacks earlier Last Boy Scout with a 70s setting. Some of the comedy was a bit laboured and the plot was needlessly consulted but its a fun couple of hours. Russell Crowd keeps his coat on a lot in an attempt to hide the fact his Gladiator physique is long gone. 7-10

The Lady in The Van 8/10

I'm a fan of Alan Bennett and Maggie Smith so I enjoyed it immensely. Maggie Smith was superb!

I watched 2 yesterday.

Puncture (also known as Injustice) - the true story of Mike Weiss, a drug addict lawyer who took on the suppliers of needles to the US hospitals after a nurse contracted AIDS after being stuck by a needle. I quite enjoyed it and I think it's worth checking out if you've got 90 minutes to spare.

Snowpiercer - Set in a future where a failed climate-change experiment kills all life on the planet except for a lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, where a class system emerges. The story of a rebellion as the lower-classes in the tail of the train try to take over it. A nice twist at the end too.

Next Goal Wins [2014]. Directors: Mike Brett, Steve Jamison

7/10

Enjoyable documentary about the American Samoa football team, for many years the worst international team in the world.

*******
Cleaner [2007] . Director: Renny Harlin

6/10

Samuel L. Jackson as an ex-cop uncovering shady goings on in this film noir.

*******
Blended [2014]. Director: Frank Coraci

5/10

Cringey Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore comedy

*******
How the West Was Won [1962]. Directors: George Marshall, John Ford, Henry Hathaway

7/10

Cinerama feature shown on TV in letterbox format with some distortion. Ambitious but the spectacle clearly lost on TV.

Yeah, it doesn't work at all. It's not often I watch a film that seems to me to have no redeeming features whatsoever, but this new Dad's Army film definitely belongs in that category. It's just absolutely pathetic.

Anyway, I re-watched Dunkirk (1958). That's a good film. I'll give it 8/10. It'll be interesting to see how the new Dunkirk film compares with it.

The Last Heist (2016)

Cheesy DTV movie featuring a group of robbers focusing their talents on a soon to be closing safe deposit company, with the robbery turning into a hostage situation.

The twist, one of the hostages is Henry Rollins, a serial killer who cuts out the eyes of his victims!

Utter rubbish, but a fun 80 minutes or so.
