Star Wars The Force Awakens on Sky. Daisy Ridley was bad ass.

BB8 thumbs up.

The Eagle (2011) - It started off with some good battle scenes, but then descended into tedium and finally corniness. Another one I won't be re-watching. 5/10

Central Intelligence (2016) Amiable me and my buddy spy drama with The Rock and Kevin Hart, not as funny as Brothers Grimsby ( funny as in very crude and rude!! ) but pretty good lighthearted stuff, a notch above last years Spy and several better than Kingsman. A solid 6/10.

Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010) - Via iPlayer. I like some of Ian Dury's music, but I didn't think much of this film. A waste of time. 3/10

Scream (1996) - I'd only seen this once before, when it was first released on VHS, and I'd forgotten who did what. Really enjoyed it. 9/10

Now I have Scream 2 and 3 to watch.

Bad Moms-7/10 it wasn't bad and had some laughs but definately not on par with the likes of bridesmaids. I was disappointed because I had high hopes for this and it just fell a little short

Keeping Rosy. 'Enjoyed' this immensely & in particular thought the characterisation of Roger the security guard was scarily good. He was such an unpleasant chap he made you almost forget the criminality of the protagonist. For me, his sleaziness was summed up by the joke he told at the dinner table. No decent man would pull that out to a female he'd just met! 7.75/10.

Road Games (2015)

British / French thriller about a British man in France hitchhiking to Calais, who is joined by a young French woman on the road. A serial road killer is on the loose, and the pair find themselves seeking refuge with an odd couple in their large house. Strange goings on aplenty, and some twists and turns as well. Beautifully filmed, and a quirky little story that will have you wondering just what the heck is going on. Reminiscent of something from the 80s like an episode of Tales of the Unexpected.

Poltergeist

Entertaining (if overblown) 80s spookshow. Lacks a genuinely creepy atmosphere perhaps, but as a slick visual assault on its social milieu it holds some interest. 7/10

The Seven-Ups

Decent post-French Connection Roy Schneider cop thriller aided by gritty NY location work. 7/10

Captain America: Civil War

Business as usual. 6/10

Creed - 6/10

Enjoyable but by-the-numbers. It's a Rocky reboot really but without any character connection.

Glory Road [2006]. Director: James Gartner

7/10

Enjoyable "true story" sports movie about a minor college coach hiring an all black starting line-up to win the 1966 national basketball championships.

*******
Grace of Monaco [2014]. Director: Olivier Dahan

5/10

Another "true story" with Nicole Kidman as the former Hollywood star planning a comeback in Hitchcock's "Marnie" until politics in her adopted homeland dictate otherwise.

*******
Cold in July [2014]. Director: Jim Mickle

6/10

Fanciful tale of corrupt cops in Texas.

*******
Commando [1985]. Director: Mark L. Lester

5/10

Arnie rescues his daughter by single-handedly shooting up dozens of kidnappers. Very silly action pic.

*******
Secondhand Lions [ 2003]. Director: Tim McCanlies

8/10

When his mother goes off manhunting a young boy (the excellent Haley Joel Osment) is left in the care of her eccentric old uncles (the wonderful Robert Duvall and Michael Caine) who keep him enthralled with tall tales of their younger years.

That's one of favourites! A solid 9/10

Anyway I re-watched Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, which I think is great (although I'm not keen on the sequels). Another 9/10

I also re-watched Von Ryan's Express, and enjoyed that again. Not a very good DVD, though. 8/10 for the film.
