Haha! I did the same last night, first time since if came out - and I agree, it's as bad, if not worse, than I remember. I just kept thinking 'Has Ridley Scott found God or something?'.

Badly put together, a complete mess in fact - and not worthy of being connected in any way to the Alien films. It felt like they knew that Alien lovers would watch it so they didn't care about putting any effort into it whatsoever because it's all about revenue and showed no respect whatsoever for the Alien films or the viewers thereof.

Road to Perdition (2003) - Quite well made and good looking film. Tom Hanks appears a miscast, but does a pretty good job. 7/10

Chain Letter (2009) - 5/10 - Recorded it from the Horror channel and for 3/4 of the film I was intrigued but the ending was a non-event. I think the writers ran out of steam.

Tombstone -8/10- Great cast, music & lines.
Ghostbusters [2016] -4/10- Awful, the one and only part that made me laugh was when the dude gives them the finger. Seems like they didn't know what to do with Kate McKinnon most of the time and just had her do random dumb stuff just so she could get screen time.
Independence Day: Resurgence -5/10-

The Hill (1965) - Great cast (I thought Harry Andrews was the best of the lot, though). Set in a British military prison in WW2. Almost painful to watch at times, but well worth it. Would like to get this on Blu-ray. 10/10

Just finished watching Jaws on TV 10/10

It's one of those films I can't NOT watch when it's on. Terrific as always.

The Man Who Would Be King (1975)

Caine, Connery & Saeed Jaffrey bounce off each other so well.
Classic movie 10/10

Allegiant (Divergent series 3) - 7/10

The Nut Job (2014) - 8/10 (Pretty random bit at the end with Psy but it is made in part by South Korea)

Wolf of Wall Street (2013) - 7/10 - good cast, funny, surprised that I ended up liking the douchebag main character.

Sunshine on Leith (2013) - 6.5/10 - Sisnt realise when I set the TiVo to record it that it was a musical. I ended up liking it anyway, nice cameo by The Proclaimers at the beginning.

Public Enemies (2009) - A bit bland, really. I don't think I'll re-watch it. Much prefer 'DIllinger' (1973). 6/10
Skyfall

The Magnificent Seven 2016 enjoyed the movie.

Anthropoid - Excellent telling of the assasination of Reinhard Heydrich. Silly title though. I know it's the code name of the mission but still....

Yes, I agree. It's been years since I last saw it but enjoyed it immensely.

Sam (2015) I'm not usually a fan of romantic comedies, but I really enjoyed this one. I think because it reminded me of old-fashioned (in a good way) rom-coms from the 40s and 50s. If you're looking for something light that you won't be embarrassed to watch with your grandmother, then I'd recommend it.

There are parts of it I really liked and I think it could have been very, very good. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2009) (Swedish) - 8/10 - excellent acting, interesting story, hard to watch at times. Might seek out the other films in the series.

Yes, I know what you mean. I loved some of the effects; how they saw the shape of the space ship - and the ship itself - within the planet itself. Exploring the ship was good.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [2014]. Director: Jonathan Liebesman

Transpecos - 5/10 - Frustrated as this film could have been so much better, it starts out really well but the second half just goes down hill. Good cast and acting, shame the story lost it's way.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day [2014]. Director: Miguel Arteta

5/10

No-one was ever going to make a good movie out of a book with a title like that.

*******
Mars Needs Moms [2011]. Director: Simon Wells

6/10

This animated comedy has a little more going for it, despite another naff book title.
