I find it strange how there has been no build up to the live episode, there has been nothing from the media and very very little from the producers and we're only a month out from the live ep unless Blackburn is keeping his cards close to his chest, which is a very bad idea as he needs all the publicity he can get.

As for the content, I am sure the Callum / David / Kylie will be tedious unless something dramatic happens in recent weeks but at least Paula Lane and Jack P Shepherd are fantastic actors.
I'm sorry, but this storyline has been dreadful. IMO, it's a big mistake if they put the Callum storyline at the forefront. I thought Corrie improved dramatically around about the time of the fire & Deirdres funeral, but it's very quickly fell again, and is now my 3rd favourite behind Emmerdale and EastEnders. I have no idea why it's rating as well as it is!!!

There might be 3 big shocks coming in the live ep. Any guesses as to what the 3 big shocks are? Theres been some rumours that

...

Kevin Webster is Sarah Lou's dad, and Brian Tilsley or Janet Barlow will return....from the dead, plus some kind of disaster
You do realise that shit you make up yourself doesn't count as 'rumours' yeah?

If it's any good after the utter tedium and half arsed attempts at big stories they've churned out the past two years, that will be the biggest shock.

Lol!! Bryan Tilsley returning would be a disaster in itself!!

How about:-

1) It is revealed that Gail is suffering from a rare form of mental illness that causes her to behave like a gibbering village idiot!!

2) Carla buys 56000 lottery scratchcards & wins the jackpot of £55000... the irony of it actually forces her face to break into a SMILE!!!!!

3) Callum picks a fight with Tony!! The pair of them wrestling with each other on the ground gradually gives way to a passionate embrace, they kiss........then Liz comes out & yells so hard it scares them both to death...literally!!

I would say there is more chance of

Callum being murdered

Michelle finding out she is pregnant

Lloyd leaving

live on ITV.

Janet Barlow returning from the dead even less people would know who she is than when Robert Preston first returned.

I'm not disputing that storyline has been dreadful (it has been since the start of Kylie's drug addiction / Max ADHD - almost a year ago!) but at least we can count on decent actors for live episode, not someone like Antony Cotton.

The Simon swap would make sense because the kid doesn't look anything like a Barlow. He looks biracial, for starters.
Yes, he does and it's becoming more obvious the older he gets. Did we ever get to see his Mum? If not, we could just assume that she was black.

Yes his mum was called Lucy, Peter started an affair with her whilst in a relationship with Shelley but neither of them knew about the other. When Lucy got pregnant with Simon Peter married her even though he was engaged to Shelley. A couple of months later he also married Shelley & Lucy eventually discovered he was a bigamist. I can't remember how, it might have been Tracy who told her because they worked together?

Anyway we have seen Simon's mum, she was a major character for a while & part of a big storyline. And she was blonde & blue eyed with very fair skin! So if Simon is mixed race it will have to turn out that Peter is not his real biological father.

Isn't there supposed to be a final showdown between david and callum which a lot think will end in callum being killed. Doing live fight scenes could go wrong. The pre recorded fight scenes are bad enough never mind live.

I'm not being defensive in the slightest. You're the one always posting negatively about the ITV soaps.

A few ideas I have for the hour long episode include

Jim Mcdonald returns to say he's dying of cancer and asks Liz and Steve for help.

Calumn is killed off when David throws a petrol bomb through his window. He doesn't mean to kill him but he does and faces a possible murder charge if ever found out.

Emily with Rita nip round to see Ken where they sit at the table with a bottle of brandy reminiscing over old times with Dierdre and share a few laughs.

Simon runs away from home. A frantic Leanne goes looking for him.

Gail has never done a live episode and is the only one who has been there since 2000 who hasn't. That's a positive at least !
