I'll freely admit to hating coffee and drinking tea at awkward social events only.
is anyone else a non drinker and feel slightly embarrassed? I just don't get the need or desire to drink 5 cups of tea per day

Wish I didnt. It would save me £5.30 a week on my weekend coffees plus my Azera tin of coffee and my Assam teabags.

I don't drink either and I don't find it embarrassing at all. I don't mind tea and I'll have some if I'm desperate for a drink and it literally is the only option though.

Even the smell of coffee makes me want to heave

Embarrassing is maybe the wrong word. It's just when you are in a tea/coffee scenario people are usually surprised when I say I dint like either

I can't understand people not drinking tea or coffee!........ What do you drink instead?..... There is nothing like the refreshing feel of having a cuppa or a coffee!... Water just doesn't do it for me!.......

I don't feel embarrassed at all about not drinking tea or coffee. I could quite easily refuse both if offered them.

I don't really get much enjoyment out of coffee, I only really use it for a little energy before the gym and to keep me awake on night shift. I hardly ever drink conventional tea with milk, but do sometimes drink green tea.

That stuff that comes out of the taps.

Edit: I'm not saying that water on its own tastes nice/sweet, but it's very healthy. Your body needs water.

Yes, I get that all the time. I absolutely despise tea (Pah!). Coffee I drink very seldom. Being intolerant to caffeine doesn't help. It's amazing how many places I frequent that don't do decaffeinated. I generally only drink it when I have company or at friends (and always carry a few decaf sachets with me in my bag!)

Juice isn't needed. Water is fine.

You can get as much hydration from a tea or coffee as from water alone.

I do drink water!, in fact since I have had trouble with gall stones I have found my body asking for water so I do carry a bottle around most of the time but I still think it is no substitute for the feel you get when you have a tea or coffee!......

Why would you be embarrassed to say you don't like tea and coffee?

What an odd statement who cares what you do and don't drink.

I don't like coffee. Love tea.

Never drunk coffee.

Used to drink green tea for supposed health benefits. Tasted so bad I had a bar of chocolate with it.

I haven't drunk tea for years but I do drink coffee. Cappuccino in Nero and black the rest of the time.

No idea why anybody would feel awkward or embarassed about either drinking it or not drinking it

I don't drink tea or coffee, and I hate the smell of coffee.

My papa calls it "Costa plenty" he ain't wrong. Coffee shops are a rip off its far cheaper to bring a flask with you.

I'm not a big tea drinker the only tea I liked was my Nana's and she died 12 years ago nobody can make tea as good as she did. I don't drink coffee I don't sleep as it is.

I'm a coffe lover and can't stand tea, not even the smell of it. It was during an illness I had when I was about 8 years old, that I just found tea vomit inducing and never found it anything but since that time. I used to drink it before that and so that one illness seems to have changed me forever.

Sadly that was back in the days when everyone drunk tea and very few drunk exotic stuff like coffee. (Back then coffee was an expensive thing that was only ever made with hot milk. In fact what we make now with instant coffee (Water with a bit of milk) was referred to as a water coffee and saved on milk. Now it's just called coffee and the normal way to have one outside of a fancy coffee shop.)

Back then whenever I'd go around a mates houses, the parents would just make me a tea without even asking as it was that normal and a party of every day life. I had to either refuse it and put up with the social disgrace or drink it, gagging all the way.
