EE: just imagine for one minute if Pauline, pat, Angie, den and lou were still in it
Pauline and lou wpuldnt be in it now anyway. Their respective actresses are sadly no longer with us. I wish lou stayed longer then 3 years though.
Pauline and Jane would probably be at loggerheads. Pauline would probably still snipe at Sonia.
Lou - Too difficult to think as she was only there for 3 years and that was a very, very long time ago.
Pat - Too emotional to discuss.
She'd still be rockin' it like she always did!
Den - Dodgy dealings, war with Phil and "Allo princess" every 2 mins?

Well, Lou Beale would be about 100 now wouldn't she....plus although I liked pat, I don't want her back wobbling about the square with that look of hers...Pauline will be still moaning for England. As for Ang....nahhhh.
Den Watts? Nobody wants him back he's been killed off twice already!!

Pat, yes. But Den was stale and the others are dead (the actors). Now Arthur and Michelle would be great, even Mark. It would be fabulous to still have the Fowlers around, they were a much better family than the Beales IMO.

I was merely trying to raise discussion about how the show would be/look in the current climate of carters, hubbards and kathys return etc with the old characters thrown in

But that is where you are wrong because 'what if' scenarios are a great set of exercises for the brain and opens up sections of the mind to new ideas, therefore it has a point, by your false logic, we shouldn't be watching fictional soaps such as EastEnders.

I can just imagine if Den was in the show, Buster wouldn't have been the father of Mick...
Wouldn't it have been wonderful to have Lou around right up until Anna Wing's death in 2013? And similarly, have Pauline until 2009, giving her the proper send off she deserved.
