Dashcam /SD card helllllp

Last week I bought a next base 202 lite dashcam and a full size PNY performance class 10 32gb SD card. It will only record for 20 seconds and then timer jumps from 00:00:20 to 03:36:40 and the recording stops. If I switch it off and on it will start recording and then does the same again. I've reformatted the SD card it's still doing the same

Any advice

The SD card could be dodgy. If you have a card reader on a computer try plugging the card into that and copy a shed load of data onto it and see if it can handle it. Once the data is on there try to read it back off the card to check it hasn't been corrupted.

If you get problems with only a relatively small amount of data copied over then the card is likely dodgy. In that case as it's brand new take it back to where you got it from and get it replaced.

If the card turns out to be OK then it could be the camera is dodgy. Same thing applies. If you suspect the camera is dodgy take it back and get a replacement. If it is a physical shop rather than an online purchase you can easily demonstrate the problem.

Did you buy the SD card from a reputable source? It could easily be a fake with a lower capacity.

I assume the timer is on the display of the dashcam. What happens if you try a different SD card? it may be the dashcam which is faulty, and recording stops because of the timer.
