They're trying to copy DWTS by adding extra props/ dancers in their routines..but to me i find it kinda forced on SCD but really entertaining on DWTS. Like i loved most of Pixie-Trent dances...and also the addition of extra props/dancers in their routines cause of Trent's smart choreography. But then some of the other dances when extras were added looked meh to me! Some of the pros on SCD don't know how to use and fit in the extra props/ dancers in a routine like of DWTS's pros. (Just watch Derek-Nastia's subway charleston...so amazingly choreographed and well organized with all the props/extra dancers).

After Blackpool everybody has a core of training in their legs so the dance can be stripped back to the basics.
I feel the same over the themes, they can help get us through weeks 3 to 7 when really its just weeding out the weakest and waiting for the contenders to find their feet.
This way if the showdance has all and sundry as usual we will have had a break and enjoy the spectacle more
OK all enjoying the showdances is a push I know”

BIB : that is completely the point - they help the poorer dancers! Those who can dance don't need to rely on gimmicks (although, unfortunately, even they now have a tendency to use props).

As for the showdance - as 90% of the dances throughout the series seem to be more "showdance" than anything else, what should be something different in the final, is just more of the same old same old.

Mostly no but they can work sometimes to emphasise a mood or disguise a celeb's weaknesses.

I voted no.

I think backing dancers can be OK in Blackpool, as it's a lot of floorspace to fill.

I think the odd prop here and there can add something to a dance - but I wouldn't expect someone to need more than one or two props for the whole series.

As it is, it feels like the producers are just trying to manufacture problems and it spoils the dances.
