Strictly tickets

You have between now and Monday 17th August to register for the ticket ballot to the Strictly shows - this link should take you to the application page.

If you're lucky enough to get tickets for any of the shows during this series would you mind providing the spoiler page with the result on Saturday evening (very early call out I know)?!!

FYI its ONLY the Red Carpet Premiere and the Premiere Show that are available at the moment

rest of the dates are to be released shortly I would imagine

WORTH NOTING
**Please note that should you be successful in the random draw for the Strictly Come Dancing Premiere Show you will be excluded from the random draw for the 2015 series.**

I'm not sure about that as last year I ignored the email about the red carpet and premier show then never got another email about applying for tickets for the rest of the series.

My understanding is apply now and your details are kept for the remainder of the series, unless you get tickets for the Premier Show then, as you have said, you won't be in the ballot for the other live shows. Hope this helps!

oh right

thats not how it has been over previous years - when the rest of the tickets become available there is a screen which lists all the dates and you have to apply individually for the shows that you hope to get tickets for

thats how it worked last year and the year before

I'm sort of confused. Will they be running a separate ballot for the ordinary shows, or do you have to put your name in before 17 Aug, and take whatever date they allocate you between September and December? I only ever apply for the Blackpool show, as I just can't get to the London shows. I seem to recall that the ballot for the normal shows went up to the end of August in previous years. So, do we think they'll close this one - for the opening shows - and then open the ballots for the remaining shows after that date?

My recollection is that all the normal shows come as a list and you enter your details separately for each of the ones you'd like to be in the ballot for. I think the August deadline is just for the red carpet and launch shows. Unless it's changed, of course

if its the same as last year - the red carpet launch and premiere shows were available first to apply for

there was then the opportunity to apply for the rest of the shows

these are all the shows available to book atm

http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/shows/

once the rest of the dates become available there will be another "square" on there saying Strictly

you will need to apply individually for any of the shows for the rest of the series when they are released

hope that makes sense

if you apply for the 2 shows that are available now - that is all you are applying for - your information wont automatically be passed over for the rest of the series

That's correct.

Popular BBC shows will generally have a drop down box showing the various shows' broadcast dates and asking you to pick a set number of shows in order of preference (seems to be three shows IIRC).

With the premiere filmed on the Wed night, isn't it the same Friday when it is televised, or is it the Sat? Can't remember!

I know what you mean, I can only apply for the Blackpool show as well, if you sign up to the BBC tickets web site they should let you know when tickets become available. Already had email about the premier show. Do you want me to pm you if I get an email?

I have done the same thing, pretty much ever year and I have only ever had an email about the Red Carpet/Premiere show

I think they forget to send out the emails when the rest of the shows become available - I prefer to just keep checking the link that I posted

Think I will keep checking just in case they forget to send me one. One of these years I will hopefully get lucky for the Blackpool show.

They don't always send out the email for the main shows. I know because there've been several years I suddenly realised it was late August and I'd not applied for tickets! Even when they have sent out an email, it's been relatively late compared to when the tickets actually went on ballot. I suspect they get so many applications these days, that there's simply no need to push the event and try and get the full attendance numbers! It must be the most oversubscribed BBC free ticket event by a mile!

Given today was the ballot closing date for the opening shows, hopefully they'll get the main show tickets up by the end of this week. Whoever spots the tickets being available first, can they post here to help us out?!

which is what I have said

a friend was lucky enough to be given tickets by another friend and she took me - when we were in the marque waiting to go into the studio there was a BBC lady on a microphone just chatting and explaining what was going to happen and she told us that OVER 8 million people had applied for something like 300,000 tickets (dont quote me on the 300,000 figure) but the amount of people applying for tickets was HUGE

if ANYONE gets tickets then WELL DONE!!!!!!!!

I've applied too - just for Blackpool, as usual! Interesting to see it specified that you can apply for multiple dates, but will only ever get tickets for one date, if successful. Did they do that in previous years? I seem to remember people going to multiple London live recordings in years past. Good luck everyone! Come back here and let us know if and when you get any tickets!

I've applied for tickets. Getting a ticket is half the battle, because you have to arrive very early to try and get in.

Good luck to everyone who has applied.

yes, its been the same for a while but I know people who apply numerous times using other peoples names and addresses and emails which is (I am assuming) how they get to go more than once (plus Lady Luck must be shining on them!!)
