The Emmerdale omnibus was like watching a Hollywood blockbuster

It really was like a movie of some kind, just a couple things missing (incidental music, and a final kiss of the lead characters)

the acting was phenomenal. I don't understand why Hollywood stars shun roles in soaps like this (other than the acting in Emmerdale ths week would have put the Hollywood A listers to shame)

I did enjoy it.
As for the acting, yes it was generally very good, but, (as much as I love Diane), Elizabeth Estensen cannot give a decent dramatic performance when emotion is required.
Comedy? Yes, she's a total pro, but dramatic? No, she can't. In all honesty, I found her very 'hammy'.

I thought it was good and I enjoyed it....but no way could you compare it to an Hollywood blockbuster..

Sorry I don't agree with you. Diane's reaction to seeing Val's body being taken out of the hall of mirrors had me in tears. Her scream to me said it all

Strange how we see things differently isn't it? I thought she was beyond awful in that scene.

Me too but I think I'm biased because I just can't stand the character.
