Scenes with Bob in ED a bit OTT??
Just watched tonight Emmerdale, and the scenes outside the cafe with Bob, Eric, Finn etc, weren't they a bit OTT? The way they talked to Bob about the article in the paper, seemed a bit stupid, I know what he did with Carly was wrong, but this is Bob we are talking about, anybody would think he was local bad guy!!
Obviously it was a reason to get him into prison early. |

Yes, it was totally contrived and clunky and ED should be better than this.
The fracas wasn't even started by him anyway so there was no reason to arrest him for 'breaking his bail'. He was practically mugged fgs! Would they have arrested him for that too?

Yeah it just confused me tbh. I don't really know why they treated him like that.

I burst out laughing it was so daft
The 'hall of mirrors' and Val's ghost were the best scenes of last week for me, but the fallout from that has been disappointing.

There was 3 against 1 with Finn manhandling and putting Bob in a headlock yet it was Bob who got arrested because of his bail conditions despite everyone else being the aggressors

Welcome to Emmerdoaks folks.
It's no longer about the characters - it's all about the PLOT |

When Eric said in the pub he was angry about the report he had read in the paper I assumed he was angry because he realised it was all a load of rubbish, so it was a bit surprising when they all went for him the way they did. Did not ring true at all. They all know Bob and they must have realised he just wouldn't profiteer in that way. The pub was open as well, okay Diane did ask people to come in for a drink, but did she do that all day?

I found it quite hilarious actually but at least we know that Finn is most definitely a Barton brother now

I assumed Eric was mad because the story in the paper put Val in a bad light IE mentioning the fraud. Didn't he say something like this is what she'll be known for or wtte.
He's really pissing me off though in fact the whole blame mongering village is completely irritating. Rachel was confessing to Sandy what a bad person she had been and the next minute she was first in line to string Chrissie up. Eric conveniently seems to have forgotten that he locked Val up in the Hall of Mirrors leaving her a sitting duck. It appeared he was happy to leave her there all day and night as well. Maybe he is acting out of guilt or something but it is all highly annoying. Still at least we got to see that Finn is going to take over from where Ross left off. The new village hard man has arrived

It was good to see Finn channelling a his semi-departed brother, but it was cobblers! I honestly didn't understand a bit of it. They didn't even really explain what was in the damn paper, or why everyone would jump on Bob when he'd obviously been misrepresented.
Really not good storylining at all. This week has been a right damp squib so far. |

![]() Bob's assaulted by tough nut Finn, over something that was printed in the paper(did we find out what it was![]() ) and poor Bob ends up in pris! I think the show is quite confusing at the mo. The reaction towards Chrissie I find OTT too and Ashley's coldness to her. Eric's behaviour of blaming all and taking no blame himself. And what's happening with Rob? Why is he in Home Farm still? Surely they can kick him out if they really wanted to? It all seems, well, a bit weird.

I was also baffled by the episode, it was extremely confusing! Bob's arrest made no sense whatsoever. Many characters showed themselves to be hypocrites, not least Eric practically ordering Chrissie out of the village! I know he's in shock but really?
I'm guessing Finn is about to trundle off the rails slightly and the Barton nutjob gene is about to make itself known within the sensible one. The only part of the episode I enjoyed were Sandy's words of wisdom for Rachel: “Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.” (John Greenleaf Whittier, Maud Muller) incidentally! Since the helicopter came down and during the show just hasn't made sense ..

The reactions to Bob and Chrissie feel silly and forced, Eric should be crippled with grief, and Robert should be packing his bags and trying to start again. None of it makes sense, does it? It feels like it was written and cobbled together in a rush. Never sure why soaps do this, because anyone who's tuned in for the stunt will just tune straight out again.
