Agreed, the electronic sound goes perfectly with the vocals. Quite lot of their later stuff isn't that bad. Another one I like is When all Is Said and Done, an alternative Winner Takes It All

Great song. I'm surprised it didn't hit number one.

bib: I wouldn't describe that great tune as underrated; it also spent 5 weeks at number 1.

Summer Night City, that was underrated (and as mentioned by a previous poster, was not featured on Abba Gold, despite being a top 5 hit)

I would add Angel Eyes (also liked the "other side" Voulez Vous); they never made a video for it.

100% with you on that one.

One of two new songs recorded for Abba The First 10 Years and, along with Under Attack barely made dents in the UK singles charts despite both tracks being excellent.

I also think Blancmange's cover version of The Day.... is also very credible and stays true to the original.

Two For The Price Of One is another fabulous track.

Most overrated. Easy ..... Dancing Queen which gets played to death on the radio.

I love this thread, on your underrated sections you've listed all the ABBA tunes I'm willing to admit I listen to!

Day Before You Came
Under Attack
The Visitors
Cassandra
I Am the City
One Of Us
Eagle
The Piper
Summer Night City
Angel Eyes
When All is Said and Done

I grew up with More ABBA Gold, and have said on my radio show that is the essential ABBA CD. Not the big hits, the lesser known tunes!

If it wasn't for the nights and When all is said and done should have been UK singles

If It Wasn't For The Nights was going to be the first single from Voulez-Vous, they sang it on the Mike Yarwood Christmas show. I remember it being a big thing because by then ABBA didn't appear on British tv shows much, certainly not Top of the Pops. They changed to Chiquitita in the new year and that was probably a good choice because it fitted in better with the Year of the Child concert.
