Looks like we'll be getting Quicksteps and Salsas in Week 1

I'm looking forward to seeing this cast perform; there's quite a range of personalities and possible talents but in terms of hype for the show, I'm not bothered whatsoever, especially with the pros. I'm tired of seeing Derek, Mark and Peta (obviously she's had to withdraw but still) get contenders or hugely popular partners whilst the likes of Emma, Keo (maybe Khan will change this) don't. It's a shame, the shows completely different from how it used to be.

I long for the days of season 8/9 I think it was, Lil' Kim, Shawn Johnson, Ty Murray, that series.. a range of dances/great signings and a great series.

...I can't believe I didn't predict that.

An interview with the showrunner.

No results shows or guest judges this year, and the switch-up's back. I'm happier about some of those things than others.

No guests. That is the best news. I wanted three judges for the fall season and Len making four judges for the spring season, so dream come true for me. No results shows is always annoying, but that is alright. I guess switch-up will be alright, but I don't really love it if I am honest!

Question the first: is everyone dancing tonight?
Question the second: is there an elimination tonight?
Question the third: Gary Busey???
KiwiJay

All thirteen dance tonight.
No one is eliminated this week.
Next week all thirteen are dancing TWO routines - once Monday, once Tuesday - and will have hometown visits etcetera to really get to know all the stars.
Someone will then be eliminated I believe (first time ever no one is eliminated until 3 dances are performed by each celeb!)
Lastly, Gary Busey is going to be HILARIOUS!

@ABC7George: Season 21 is about to begin on #DWTS. 13 stars now but when next week's shows end, there will only be 11 left! http://t.co/ZfCwMaPbvM

So double elimination next week

Is there anywhere I can watch this please?

My general opinions, in spoilers for those who don't want, well, spoilers:

Spoiler
1) On first watch, 7 celebs would all make worthy finalists: Bindi, Hayes, Alek, Alexa, Carlos, Tamar, and Nick.

2) Hayes and Alek especially surprised me, as neither seem to have any dance training, but turned in quite polished performances.

3) Derek has a dead-cert finalist with Bindi. Anyone would have a dead-cert finalist with Bindi. If Bindi had me as her partner, she would be a finalist, she's that marketable.

4) Chaka.

5) I'm genuinely worried about Gary... not dancing; he was fair (in a 4/10 way), just... in general...

6) Re: the above, **** off, scoring Gary 2 points higher than Chaka.

7) Re: Hayes, me too, Carrie Ann, me too.

8) Dance of the night? Bindi & Derek, with Nick & Sharna and Tamar & Val nipping at their heels. I'd put Alek & Lindsay in 2nd in my votes though, as for a complete novice that Foxtrot was damn fine (as is he).

9) Predicted final 3, apropos of nothing: Bindi, Hayes, Alek.

They've found a paddle lower than 5.

Gary and Chaka were dancing for less than a minute?!

Genuinely surprised at how terrible Chaka was and tbh, I don't feel Keo as a good teacher

I'm watching this 'blind' for the first time tonight - ie, going in without knowing the scores already!

Looking forward to it more than Strictly's first show. C'mon CHAKA!

Thank you kp2ni xx

Have just seen the train wreck. Poor poor Anna. That must be torture. And two dances next week? They need to call the Brad Pitt of Dance to help out, surely.

Didn't I say weeks ago that this " married couple " storyline was going to get old really fast ?

Lol at viewers already being turn off by it and it was ONLY the first night. Mark was a grouchy all night, doesn't seem into this season at all....his partner is campaigning more for her husband than herself.

Failed experiment !!! Never again dwts. oh and I don't find them cute, I find them REALLY annoying.

So, I watched it...

Some thoughts:

Alexa and Carlos are so egregiously twee, I really don't think I can stomach a season of them.

Gary wasn't as bad as I expected and I can't wait for his Paso. I mean, it'll be awful, but it'll be memorable.

Chaka was not good. And not even in an ironic, 'watch through your fingers' kinda way. That's three times in as many seasons that Keo's partners have forgotten their choreo. I really wanted him on Strictly but I just don't think he cuts the mustard as a partner.

Bindi was great - nothing more to say.

Kim was dancing like she was made of china. Just a really odd Salsa and I don't like Tony at all. He's like Anton on industrial strength testosterone.

Double elimination so early on seems cruel, but there's an embarrassment of riches as far as the first boot is concerned. I'm nailing my colours to the mast and saying Chaka & Victor.

And earnest instead of funny. I don't even like his looks with the heavy brow-line, and I hear he's getting fat.

I just wasted half an hour of my life watching the Derek Hough show (aka DWTS). Admittedly I FF through most of it. I won't bother watching again. So tired of the bias toward the aforementioned Derek, Val and Mark, and sick to death of the screechy voices of the judges (not you Bruno)

The show has taken a huge hit missing Len too. You would get some good value fights / controversy from Len now the Judging panel is sickly sweet to the contestants and it just does not work for me. On SCD you look forward to the Craig comment / Len & Bruno interaction. DWTS I just am bored now. Especially with Julianne.

The cast is okay but I was not excited by the dancing. Since Len has gone technique has gone out the window and it's all mash-up nonsense. Not enjoying it at all.

Bindi GODDESS to win please <333

LOL same, I fast forward both of them because I felt like I had better things to do in that time

Gar Busey was not funny, I found it heart warming to see him give it a go but later on it will become pathetic and humiliating and I don't want that for Gary.
