The cast is okay but I was not excited by the dancing. Since Len has gone technique has gone out the window and it's all mash-up nonsense. Not enjoying it at all.
Not really watching much this season, but agree with this in general, except to say I think they abandoned technique ages ago. The difference now, without Len, is they've abandoned any pretence of caring about it.😏

Why are the dances so short this season? Some that i've watched are less than 50 seconds long.

They've been short at the beginning of the series for the past couple of years. They will eventually end up longer. A bit pathetic, I think. There's a ton of filler and it's the dancing they cut back on to save time!

They're wheeling out contemporary already this week. And bizarrely the Charleston seems to be a (semi) permanent dance now.

I quite like the charlestons on DWTS. They seem less hammy compared to the ones on SCD. (Still, it shouldn't be there at the expense of the core ballroom an Latin dances).

Where are you guys in the UK watching this? Youtube is just full of "click link to watch here" videos that lead to nowhere. The Genesis App on Kodi used to have all the seasons on there but now they've gone. Where can I see the full show?

Searching 'Dancing With the Stars s21e01' (or whatever episode number it is) into Google usually brings up lots of links.

Shh, you didn't hear a thing...

Of all the bad casts they've had, this has to be the worst.

Rest assured that if you haven't heard of most of these people, you aren't alone. When head-case Busey, racist Deen, and a child from Australia are the big names? That's so sad.

And the judging is a disaster without Len. Just worthless.

I think Julianne is more of an authority than Len - he probably hasn't danced properly in at least 30/40 years. The judging panel has always been meh for me though. Len was incredibly biased and inconsistent.

I agree about the celebrities. It's a shame when big names from the past e.g. Chaka embarrass themselves. I don't know why she chose to do the show.

This the best known cast for me for years.

I am in the US and watching live for the first time in years. I can't believe how tacky it has become. I won't spoil anything but the scoring is still a joke and dances are very short.

I only watch a few of the dances on Youtube, but I've largely given up on it. They may as well just hand Bindi (and Derek of course) the trophy now.

...I dunno, Alek & Lindsay look like they could put up a good fight on both the scores and votes front...

An interview with the showrunner.

No results shows or guest judges this year, and the switch-up's back. I'm happier about some of those things than others.
They couldn't even keep their word on this - Alfonso Ribeiro's the first guest judge (presumably of many) next week.

Sigh.

(on a slightly more positive, I enjoyed quite a lot of last night's dances and couldn't disagree with the result)

Pissed. Was happy about just three judges. Rob Wade needs to bugger off, and a traditionalist needs to be put in to balance out the new with the need for the OLD! And that's not even on a Len scale!

Whilst Gary is crap, Anna doesn't seem that much better. She doesn't look all that bothered.

I personally felt Paula's tango was quite good, as was Kim's foxtrot...The only one I would like to leave now is Gary to be fair. I think four dances from him will be quite enough...

I kind of like this series but the thing I HATE about it is that the routines are only 60 SECONDS long! That is ridiculous.

So far, Bindi is my favourite. I also like Tamar and Hayes.

But in my view Tamar's Charleston was Way Over Marked. 2 8s and a 9 is a bit too high. I would have given 6.

Who on earth is Rob Wade?

And I totally agree with you about having a traditionalist on the panel. I would have thought Julianne, as a professional dancer would have been stricter than she is.

Rob Wade is the executive producer, and he's really changed the format for the worse in many ways. I want 3 judges, and personally I am sick of Carrie Ann.

I'm fairly sure Conrad Green started the whole guest judge thing in Season 18.
