I've said this for AGES! I even said I bet Rather Be was Adele using a different name in case it flopped as it was different to her main stuff.

I have said this for over a year. When I first heard Rather Be I thought that Adele was singing.

Jess Glynne's got a much richer and more powerful voice than Adele! All imo, anyways

Post some examples then OP .. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing. I probably like Jess Glynne more than Adele to be fair, but convince me of your theory

look at the replies to this thread, don't think i'm the first or only one to think it

and here is an early tweet of this discovery https://twitter.com/zoyapasha/status/425558413452402688

Nah!!!

I'd say Jess has a slightly deeper more smokey tone to her voice. I definitely didn't hear "Adele" the first time I listened to Rather Be.

I'm not saying you're not the first or only one to think it, i'm just asking you to show some examples. Obviously I could go and listen to Jess Glynne and Adele right now, but you've obviously heard specific songs that convince you of the similarity so convince me as well .. i double dare you

I have said this for over a year. When I first heard Rather Be I thought that Adele was singing.

Exactly my reaction. Then when someone told me it wasn't Adele my reaction was that a session singer was doing a vocal impression of Ms Adkins....

Both fantastic voices, the trouble with Jess Glynne, with some of the music she does and some of her ridiculous photo ops - http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/images/ic/640x360/p02kcjnb.jpg - is that she could get saddled with an image as 'the sound of chav Britain', while Adele gets talked up as a new Dusty Springfield and a national treasure.

Unfair, but it could well head that way with some of the online comments I've read.

At the risk of stirring up trouble, Jess Glynne (decent popstar that she is) is not in the same league as Adele. Sorry. Given her 'impression' of Adele on the Clean Bandit song it's telling that she doesn't list her as a musical influence (though she does list Etta James, Adele's all-time inspiration).

The industry always finds a copy of previous acts. See Sam Smith turning up after Adele's massive second album success. He's now looking a lot like George Michael did. If people like a voice like Adele's, then it makes sense to find a girl with a similar tone but give her different music. And it is working all right.

I've never thought Jess Glynne is anything like Adele. Their voices are very different. Adele's is a lot deeper and more powerful. And while they both make pop music, Jess goes for a much more commercial, dancey sound whereas Adele is far more soulful.

Just because they're two young, female British pop singers doesn't mean they're anything alike.

I don think they sound the same vocally either. Maybe there's a slight similarity in accents due to them both being from North London.

It's a ginger thing! Jess is great and I've liked most of her songs but would be good to really hear her belt out something completely different

I've never confused their voices, but now it's been mentioned I can hear a slight similarity.

I've never heard that before but now I listen to one after the other I here it myself. Jess is a little more raspy, Adele's got a crystal clear sound to her.

I can hear a similarity in their voices but I prefer Jess. Adele's has a fingers down blackboard effect on me on some songs, wheras Jess's voice has an easier flow to it.

This is exactly how I feel. I would have never noticed before, but Jess does sound very similar to Adele on Rather Be, however I just prefer Jess' voice. Her tracks are more upbeat and catchy and just more my kind of music. I'm not denying Adele's huge talent, but Jess is equal imo.
