That wasn't her exit, she leaves in the live episode next month.

Janine Butcher and Sally Fletcher's exits were my best ones.
I got great satisfaction from Janine's as her exit was so true to her character and kept us wondering.
With Sally, her story had literally come full circle. Her final story linked to her very first on the show, we had a few months of a massive trip down memory lane, a Fletcher reunion and some really heartbreaking final scenes.
Sadie King's on Emmerdale is another favourite.

Louise on Emmerdale was a poor exit. I understand Emily Symons had to leave in a hurry due to her mum being ill but Louise was a major chatacter at the time so it felt a bit disappointing.

I think Robbie's exit from ED was my favourite. That entire episode was my favourite soap episode ever!
I also liked Zoe Tate's exit. I'll always remember that shot of her in the back seat of the car as Home Farm exploded in the rear window behind her.

The parachute death in HO was spectacular although I can't remember the character's name!

Sarah Barnes. That really was an incredible scene and storyline.

Yeah that was good. I like JP and Craig's exit too. From Corrie I liked Alma Baldwin's, Mike Baldwin's and Jack Duckworth's exit as all were really emotional endings to great characters. I didn't like Hayley's death that much though.

In Eastenders I thought Lola's exit was awful.

EastEnders seem to rush some exits now. Some characters have a problem brought up and they end up leaving the next episode such as Lola (Jay's arrest), Aleks (The police were after him in a rushed storyline) and David (had a heart attack and broke up with Carol whilst leaving Bianca in the space of 2 episodes).

Also I found it a bit weird that Bianca never got the duff duff for her exit episode - it ended up being Alfie looking at a mirror with a match. The ending for both the previous and next episode were more or less the same scene of Alfie deciding whether to set the house on fire.

The worst exit by far has to be Jack Brannings. It was so contrived and even though he wasn't a great character, he deserved a better exit than that.

Some stupid stuff about him not being able to be around Ronnie.

Add that to the fact that he had an awful storyline with Sharon just a few months beforehand.

Best recent exits in ED have to be Gennie Sharma and Val Pollard.

Totally agree. Both made my blood run cold and creeped me out!

Gennie's was particularly shocking and I couldn't believe what I was seeing for a 7pm scheduled soap! The accident was harrowing enough without immediately following it with a chilling murder! It unnerved me and took some time to get over! It was brilliantly done though and had such a huge impact as Gennie was such a sweet and innocent character. As soon as I heard that she was almost certain to be Cameron fodder I knew it was going to be difficult to watch and it was!

Sorry, but this is still the best exit in soap history for me! What clinched it is the fact that she broke the fourth wall. It's a terrible shame that it was ruined with two further and rather shockingly-bad returns. Clare should have been left in gold-digging history forever!

Val Pollard is one of my favourite recent exits, Pat Evans is another although the circumstances of her real life departure ruined it for me. I was very satisfied watching Janine's 2014 exit, as one of my favourites at the time. i did enjoy her 2013 arrest even though it wasn't her official exit as had hoped she would escape, which she did anyway

Lola was my favourite teen so her horrendous exit annoyed me to no end

One of the worst I've seen in recent times was Tess on Casualty on Saturday!
A character who had been a mainstay in the show for 12 years written out in about half an episode, without half of the other charaters knowing or caring she was even going. No leaving party or anything and not even a proper storyline to send her on her way! They have had far more fanfare for the exit of characters who have been in the show for five minutes!
Her very last scene was actually very touching but that was only because the actress was so good, not because they gave her anything worthwhile to say!
