I don't think I do 'current', I don't even reach for the ON button. I bought four CDs at the weekend, from 1972, 1973, 1977 and 1978. Cutting edge!

U2 and The Verve.

U2 for the bland bluster, The Verge for the dirge.

Taylor Swift there is the odd song but vastly overrated.

Rita Ora just basic

Sam smith bland thats the best to be said of him

Megan Traynor a poor retro soul pastiche and unlikable.

Yes.

Anaconda by Nicki Minaj.

I mean...where is the "song" for starters? I'd much rather listen to Cheerleader any day over that thing Nicki Minaj passed off as a hit single last year. **shudders**

Also how anyone can listen to Fetty Wap's attempts at singing and genuinely think "what an amazing singer" beggars belief. :s
At least the Nicki Minaj song is ridiculous enough to laugh at, whereas Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor seem to actually think that they're soul singers and the results are painful. The referencing of Marvin Gaye is even worse because it makes me just wish that he was being played on the radio instead.

^Happy by Pharrell is one of the most overrated songs of the last few years. Back in 00s he made some genuinely good music, whether it was his own stuff or as part of the Neptunes producing for other artists.
Every time I hear it on the radio I wish it would mix in to Weird Al's much better parody - Tacky.

George Ezra. Can't stand him.His songs are so boring and his voice is just at the same pitch all of the time with no feeling to it.

agree completely. Don't think Minaj is aiming at a serious song, it just brings a smile on my face for the sheer silly topic.
Not being a song is a weak argument IMHO anyway, what about all the instrumental dance tracks-they are not songs either.

And Charlie puth on See you again sounds like a live castration

This has to be one of the worst songs in recent memory. Perhaps all time.
