I just wondered what the interest was in the likely Apple iPad Pro which is going to be 12 inches in size. I'm very interested it will be great for web browsing and video. Hopefully it won't be more than £700 for the 64gb version. It should be out in October when new iPads normally come out.

Alternately, professional people with a genuine use for something that has the size of a laptop without the weight or other drawbacks.

The surface pro's are very popular in my office - I assume this is the target that apple are aiming for. I'm guessing the ipad pro will be significantly cheaper than the Surface Pro's too

Not for a while but in the future I may get one.

The iPad can be a fraction too small when my eyes are tired and since I use a tablet 90% of the time at home, it would be the next logical step.

The Surface Pro fills that gap nicely and it seems to be very popular. Obviously it's not popular with a lot of Apple fans though since it's a Microsoft product I personally think it's a great product, but I also have to listen to my dad bragging to everyone about it and showing it off. Everyone he meets who sees the Surface wants one

Presumably, it has the Windows 8 or 8.1 operating system which works well on that particular device?

They say the iPad is like a toy compared with the Surface Pro. I like the iPad as a media consumption device which is mainly where its aimed. On the other hand, i'd never buy a Surface Pro, not when you can get a decent Chinese Windows device at a fraction of the price. I've just recently bought a Cube i7 stylus and updated it to Windows 10. It's an Intel core m CPU and with 4GB ram. Nice screen, 10.6", pretty good performance. Battery life only about 5.5 hours though after fully charged. Still, it's enough for most situations.

There is talk of them introducing a stylus, which makes me think back to Steve Jobs comments back in 2007 as below, when he introduced the iPhone. I'm not sure if he would have been happy for its use on this this device;

Perhaps with the introduction of force touch, it may be worth having one now.
We have had the note and stylus from Samsung, but that is still quite a niche.

Yes I'm interested. My ipad is old and sluggish, so I have held out on buying another one.

I won't be interested - I have an Ipad Air and thats big enough, plus for 700 quid I'd want a lot more than just a 64Gb ipad as I think my Air is vastly over priced for what it is and what it can do - its good for reading comics, magazines, the odd simple game and web browsing but I'd hate to do anything productive on it, and I wouldn't buy another tablet without expandable storage as I'm fed up having to keep deleting things just to make room for something else. If I was going to buy a £700+ tablet it'd have to come with a detachable keyboard, have decent on-board storage options and run full blown Windows software not half-hearted apps that mean I have to buy the same thing again.

Arn't they simply copying the Note Pro, even going as far as having limited multi windows too?

The problem with these simple devices is that they compete against multi tasking Windows whilst pretending they are worth more.
The use of the word Pro is plain wrong, at least in the consumer sense of things.

Heres the review of the now old Pro

"Not for the average user", "aimed at professionals".

They have their uses in industry.

If you did not make that up, the stylus doubles up as a nose picker for double value.

I missed the presentation, do you have to have the stylus? I use my iPad for watching TV, due to visual problems. The extra speakers sound good.

So which have been increased in price?

In that link all the existing devices are the same price.
