No, the old devices have even had a price cut, the old Mini I think continuing.

"The announcement is notable since the firm's ex-chief executive Steve Jobs had said: "If you see a stylus, they blew it", when he announced the original iPad."

Steve was 99% bull so we can likewise ignore that historic piece of bull. It was simply part of the sell game.

I've just bought a surface pro 3 (as a business need) so will see what that is like for a while.

In your first post you said prices were rising and now saying they are going down.

Do you even know what you are talking about?

Love the FUD from you politicians. The new Mini is now $400, up another 100 bucks, the old mini reduced by 30.

I do love it when people expect new tech to be the same price or cheaper than existing tech its replacing.

Ironically the release cost of the iPad mini 4 is the same as the release price as the iPad mini 3.

So the old one had decreased in price.

And the new one is new. So not increased or decreased in price. Goes against what you said originally.

Sounds more like you are the politician here.

"It can do things that a smartphone doesn’t do because it doesn’t have to sit in your pocket," says Apple's Phil Schiller"

Cheesy stuff http://www.knowyourmobile.com/tablet...ures-q4-launch
Is $1079 the highest ever price they have had for a 'latest iPad' ?

Well, I did not realise they had a Mini at a stupid $399, still a low spec of 1GB Ram.

You now get a whole 2GB for those 400 bucks. Will it improve Safari? Not that I think Apple want a decent web browser.

Well, Im now waiting for someone to buy a Pro and tell us how its better than Surface, just like the 'I'm the voice of reason me' who started with their Samsung as a reference point to promote the iPhone

Did like the iPad Pro and the pencil looks great.
I do quite a bit of art on the iPad (much cleaner and less smelly than when I used to paint in oils), so will love to see that in action and from what I've been reading this morning it sounds very smooth and no lag.
Do use my iPad 2 all the time, for most of my day to day office work and have mastered the iPad onscreen keyboard, so really looking forward to trying the larger on screen one. Will not bother with an external one, but it seems to be getting good reviews.
Have tried the surface over the years and found it ok, but the keyboard is just awful if you really want to get serious with your typing.
I normally get onto amazon and buy a tough cover anyway for protection while travelling with kit like this, so the apple keyboard cover will not be for me.
As for the price I think its pretty good and competing well. But the pencil is a daft price, but expect that from from Apple, and its a big step forward from a stylus
As I use the cloud for any docs, presentations, artwork, photos, books, manuals, reports etc I even think the 32gb will be fine for me, so around £500 is good value. But for me its going to be in addition to my iPad2 and will become my office of choice even more (less use of the windows laptop and desktop, which I really only use now for testing) and with the many new business type apps we can start writing and using for it, that's another big plus for me too.

In most of the tech industry new models are cheaper than the tech they are replacing. My first DVD player was £500, now you can pick them up for less than £20. My first LCD TV was £1500, its replacement was £500 and was far better spec. Computers are a fraction of the cost today compared to a decade ago.

Why don't you buy one yourself.

As for the bit in bold, I do not have a clue what you are talking about.

Where's my apology?

Very much like a politician there - spouting forth without knowing what you are spouting! Maybe you could have considered running for the Labour leadership?

That doesn't mean every new release has to be cheaper than the next though.

You can still buy a DVD player for £500 and a TV for £1500.

Even PC's can cost £1,000's

You effectively got one, it was a long tiring day so I should not have dipped in. I probably tarred you with the same brush as my long time stalker, which meant I assumed there was only the tiniest bit of truth in what you sald, so not worth looking for.

So yes, sorry I should have listened.

With the iPad pro being the first of the Next Gen Super High end range of devices Apple are about to release, the iPhone 6s/6s+ being others in the award winning range.

It will sell to those needing super high end next generation ability so from their devices. So sales will be high. The current high end generation iPads are the worlds best selling tablets due to consumer demand voting them the only devices for fully meet consumer needs. This is confirmed by competitors seeing a fall in demand and Apple seeing demand grow by an industry leading 75%.

Once again the user advantage combined with unmatched next generation super high end abilitys will see demand many times the industry average already leading to the device heading towards the best sales of such a device. These are the only Next Generation devices so they will have no competition for a year or 2 whilst competitors try to reverse engineer these products. The look advantage is once again apparent.

I can't see how an iPad Pro can be better than a Surface Pro 3 as the Surface Pro has a proper i3 or higher CPU, up to 512Gb of storage, 4Gb or 8Gb RAM, USB 3, a stylus and a MicroSD card slot plus can run full Windows software and not cut-down apps.

I'm not sure about the iPad Pro prices, but a Surface Pro 3 with 64Gb Storage, 4Gb RAM, i3 CPU, stylus is £639, how does that compare?

So it seem most of the the techies on this forum are excited to see the next generation tablets. The look advantage that carries through the range is an over whelming success within the industry setting the standard once again. An the constant updates to iOS keep these super high end devices at the cutting edge.

Unlike the more middle/low end devices from other companies often sold faulty due to the older/last generation system leaving their devices unable to run some of the latest Apps. Last generation devices just cannot compare with the abilitys of this new next generation iPad Pro.
