This will only happen the once and not that many people are recording watching in the early hours. If you have some sort of mechanism that can stall downloads there is a good chance that would cause more problems There have been reports that 2500s have been upgraded, yet mine hasn't. Are you saying that I've missed it, and will have to do a forced download (since it will only happen the once)? |

Oh, OK.
By looking at SDO (or whatever they're called now), they didn't give version numbers, so I just assumed that the latest updates applied to all boxes of that model. My version number is 9FO402, should anyone care. |

Read the FAQ. It tells you how to tell you have the new download.

I tried a forced upgrade this morning on my Grundig, and I have had the 'Upgrading' mesage - 'may take up to ten minutes' on the screen for over an hour.
I'm not sure what to do - leave it, or reboot? Suggestions please! James |

the update for sky+ is possibly different to the upgrade that adds new functionality - I know there was an update on monday for some sky+ boxes, it might have been just a bug fix upgrade

Its a shame that you can't say when you want the upgrade to take place, or that the box doesn't 'resume' its previous state after use. I use my STB connected upto my stereo to wake me up in the morning with radio channels not recievable on fm. So I have the prospect of me not hearing the alarm in the near future because the box is in standby, and being late for work.

Box was "frozen" and would not change channel at all. Had to power it off and try again. Still not working fully, I had to go to work. Started reading these forums tonight to see wtf was wrong. My box is a Pace Version number 9F2103 OS Version 1.31A8 EPG Sky+1.28.d As per faq's above, pressing help during normal viewing gets no response. I assume from this that my box has not upgraded and this morning's episode was a glitch |

I don't think any (as far as i know) Sky+ boxes have been updated, but no doubt, there might be someone to prove me wrong. BTW, if when I woke up Friends was on, I would throw a brick at the TV (I would obviously miss, as the thought of buying a new TV would annoy me)

As numerous others (and me) have previous said on many occasions - its the version number thats important not the model number ..! The version number is the way that Sky update downloads to boxes in bulk. If that particular version requires a minor change this is managed via the model number. The EPG version may well be 3.2.11 or 3.3a.6 but still require an update not related to a change on the EPG - thus the model number will change. This makes it easier for Sky to trace changes and what updates a particular box is currently holding; compared to what it should. Hope this makes sense

My Panasonic DSB31 has just had the update last night. EPG version 3.3a.6
I like the locking of channels. Just locked all the smut chanels. Can you remove them from the EPG now? Thought you were going to be able to do that? |

I've got a Panasonic box and I was up late last night listening to the radio when about 5:45am it went into standby.
It wouldn't respond for a few minutes and then when it came back on I realised it had been updated. Model Number: 5.1.B Version Number: OFO501 and I now have EPG Software version 3.3a.6 as well. But I've got a Thomson Sky+ 160 Box downstairs and that hasn't been upgraded yet. But I do put that on standby overnight so I hope I haven't lost out on the Thomson Sky+ 160 box upgrades. Is there anyone else on here who owns a Thomson Sky+160 box and has had the upgrade? |

Does anyone know what the new Sky+ Software Version number be change to when update happens. Currently mine is at sky+1.28.d (I think since sky+ boxes will be last to get Phase 1. I think Sky should consider updating the Sky+ boxes with Phase 2 at same time. That's if they are considering rolling phase 2 straight after phase 1). |

I don't think you will be able to remove ' other channels ', however isn't this something you can ammend now from phase 1. Having Sky+, I can't play around with the new features, however I'm sure I've read somewhere that you can block the ' other channels ' the same way as you can the others with a Pin Number.
