Is that by doing a Forced Download, or normal updates by Sky?

The update to 3.4.4 was on my box when I switched on. So definitely not a "forced download".!

Software 3.4.4b landed last night at 00:10 on my Pace box whilst in the middle of watching a film. It may be a coincidence but 1 minute before the fuse blew in the downstairs plug sockets. Wasn't it supposed to happen in the early hours!!!

A Forced Download will do it for you (until 24 Feb)

My amstrad DRX 500 updated as well - 3.4.4b - woke up to EPG 998, I personally like the green button personal planner and the new improved favourites but the EPG has more holes in it than cheese!!!

The EPG 'holes' should disappear, once the channel-reshuffle is completed (apparently 28th Feb is planned).

It only affects the 'main' (All Channels) version of the EPG - if you view it in 'Favourites' mode, the gaps don't appear (obviously this is only of much use to the Freesatters who are probably only interested in the 'Favourites' anyway, because they aren't bothered about seeing the Sky payware channels)

What seems like the only Panasonic 0F01 box left in the country was also updated two days ago. I got straight to adding favourites.

Its supposed to be on the forced download stream by the 24th, but Sky never stop automaticaly updating: Your box will get it in the end, even if it's April.

Hi Andy, there is still 1 week left for updates to take place, from what I can tell your update could come anytime between now and then, if your iDTV hasn't updated by February 24th, attempt a force download.

If a force download doesn't work then you MUST call sky, they have to update iDTV's as it is essential that all STB's and iDTV's recieve this update before February 28th or most of your EPG will stop working.

Where do I stand if I don't actually subscribe to SKY? Won't they just hang-up as I am not a customer?

I assume there must be someone on here that has a Panasonic TX32DTS3/TX28DTS3 iDTV AND subscribes to SKY? I suppose SKY can't ignore them? I could pretend to be a potential customer ?

Are there any other receivers that didn't get any of the other updates and are still on 3.2.11 like me?

@ Andy,

I would wait until the close date, and then if you have no update, take it up with Panasonic, who unlike Sky actually seem to care.

They could then, arguably bring pressure to bear on Sky.

Good luck.

To paraphrase a line from a film I vaguely recall seeing, "You are not alone ........"

Heinz - are you a SKY subscriber then? If you are and if nothing happens by the end (24th?) of February I assume you will be in touch with SKY?

I reckon something is already happening because, day by day, I notice certain channels display 'No satellite signal is being received' - this morning it's Euronews amongst others. Which channels go missing varies from day to day.

In a semi-panic, I've just connected up my spare Panasonic TU-DSB30 and forced a software download. It loaded normally and now shows:

1.1.Z
0F0202
1.2S4FB
3.3b.5

And, checking after the download, 528 is there but, as soon as I reconnect the iDTV, it's missing again.

So I reckon parts of the new software have been downloaded ready for a 'switch over now' signal later and, as a result, the iDTV is now short of memory (hence missing channels).

I have noticed channels showing 'No satellite signal is being received' for a week or so now - Specifically The Horror Channel and the 3 FTA movie channels directly after it (330, 333 etc). These seem to come back at times but it is very erratic.

I have tried a forced download a couple of times but it stays on EPG iDTV 3.2.11. I can't see how 'parts' of the new software have been downloaded but you never know?
