I think you'll find 3.4.4b is the EPG Software Version only.

Sorry rai uno, but what does that have to do with my post?

You talk about 3.4.4b as the Software - It is, specifically, the EPG Software.

What about the Operating System?

Box status is not governed solely by EPG Software (Though, of course, it is very important).

Anyhow, is it not time to start an EPG Version 5 Thread?

You really must read Threads more thoroughly, James: Only a few Posts ago we decided that Rechargeable Batteries are not a good idea.

Yes , but as you should know by now , Cynthia has a totally different way of charging your battery.

Now where did she put those clamps !!

Have received the new EPG update this afternoon.

Yes its one of the newer boxes, with the blue sky logo at the front.

Manufacturer Thomson
*Model Number 116_033 change to 120_037
Version Number 4E0902
*Operating System Version 1.2S4FE change to 1.2S4FH
*EPG Software Version 3.4.4b change to 3.5.3

However now am getting 'No satellite signal is being received' message on Channel 4, Sky three and a few more. Suprising was working before the update.

Not sure if this was the result of the EPG update?

Any ideas what might have cause this? or is this another cock up.....

Is the new System Health Check feature of the new update for engineers only? It's PIN protected but my PIN used for Box Office, etc. is rejected.

It is for customer service reps mainly, as I think installers have no use for it.

I have a Pace (grey) box with ex-viewing card downstairs and a similar Pace box upstairs with no viewing card, both boxes are used as FREESAT boxes.

Yesterday evening I noticed that the upstairs box had its' software updated and looked at the downstairs one - still showing the old software version.

I did a forced download (just out of curiosity) and it still shows the old version - why? Should I have removed the card?

Forced Download stream will not have 3.5.3 just yet: They only upgrade it when the roll-out is completed and the Software deemed "stable" (whatever that means!).

You will only get 3.4.4b.

Just wait - your Box should get an auto upgrade soon. They send them out more than once for each Box Variant.

Read out your Version Numbers for both boxes.

I've bought PACE 2500, but it's got old EPG 2.8b*. I am trying the force software download without any result. The question is. Is it possible to make the force download receiving only Astra 2A and 2B beams, I am broad now. I can watch Sky Three on the other PACE.

Yes you can.

On the question of updating an older version of software, it's probable that Sky withdraws the forced download stream, sometime prior to new auto downloads. As we know an auto-update is currently in progress, so be patient.

the amstrad with this new version isnt very stable, 5 times now I have had to power cycle it 2+ times to get it to work, often it now seems to lose signal lock when left in standby for anything more then a few hours usually overnight. It has never done this before on 3.4.4.

Silly question from a novice.

Many thanks
