I have just got myself a "spare" Murdoch box - a Panasonic TU-DSB31. Everything works OK except the EPG software is 3.3a.6. I tried a forced update yesterday, left it on overnight, tried another today - no joy. Now, have we settled the myths, rumours, what have you? Does anyone know for sure if and when the appropriate update stream is transmitted?
I DO so want my blue button favourite list!)

Well, my Pace 2600c1 which has been sitting plugged in since August (on 3.3.something) has finally updated to 3.4.4b sometime over Christmas and I now have the Fav button and 4 digit radio numbering.

This seems to blow the myth that the boxes are faulty and won't update (well, mine anyway) but I am curious to know why it has taken so damned long.

Anyone else with a C1 notice they have been updated?

Well my Pace 2600C1 auto updated to 3.4.4b a long time ago on 9/2/06 when this version first came out. I know people with old EPG software versions have had great difficulty in forcing an update to that version on this box.

The question really is when will these Pace 2600C1's update to the latest version 3.5.3. Has anyone got a C1 on this latest version of EPG software?

I have no idea where mine was then!! I picked it up at a car boot for £2

I am just curious as the rumour mill was spreading info that IF the box was stuck on anything below 3.4.4b, then it was faulty - and no amount of forced downloads would sort it (which seemed quite plausible). However, it seems that possibly it isn't the case and Sky have suddenly put 3.4.4b back on the auto-update stream whereas before, there was nothing there

So, as you say, when will 3.5.3 or whatever will be the latest, be rolled out (though not that it offers anything other than this Health Check option)

Yes mate. Mine did it just before Christmas.
See THIS thread, where a few have reported back.

I don't know if anyone else has seen this but I had sky installed last week and had a problem with the blue bars top and bottom of the screen, the blue bars have now disappeared and when you go into the system setup there is a new option "8.System Health Check"is this for engineers only, Also my epg software version is 3.5.3, I don't think it was that yesterday, One last thing has anyone found out what causes the rolling lines on the screen yet.

The blue bars have come back, So that update has done nothing unless this box has a mind of its own.

I have a Pace DS440N (Flow box) and the EPG Software Version is 3.4.4b, what's the latest and how do i receive it?

Thanks.

The latest is 3.5.3.

To get it, either wait or do a Forced Download (Unplug box for a few seconds: Hold "Backup" button on front panel while plugging in - only release when all the lights come on).

Wait ten mins or so until Box goes into Standby, then switch on.

If you have a Scart connected TV, there are on screen messages.

If it fails, don't fret. The latest version is not terribly exciting and it will come to you automatically eventually.

The engineer did a forced download when he installed it, and it installed 3.4.4b?

Then all you can do is wait for it to come to you automatically.

Like many others, my Pace 2600 will not upgrade.

I've tried to 'force' it, but it actually got worse. I'll check the software version and post it.

I can't get any channels over about 682, not even the 'Welcome' 998 and no radio channels at all.

Signal strength is generally over 50% and quality is generally over 60-70%.

Sometimes no EPG is available at all, it just sits there saying 'Searching for channels'

HELP.

I assume that I am entirely at SKY's mercy on this?

No mention here of Amstrad Sky Digibox. I have model 50FE01. The EPG Software Version is 3.4.4.b and now and again it says that no satellite signal is being received, but I rectify that by following the disconnecting drill etc. Anyone know the latest EPG version of this set please?

It should be 3.5.3

However, upgrading from 3.4.4 won't solve your problem - the only real change is the provision of "System Health Check".

Any Pace Users get an upgrade this morning? My EPG Version is now at 4.10c - I only ask as I had a recording lose a few minutes at arouund 5.30am (the normal time an Upgrade takes place)

No upgrades have occured, especially as 4.10.c has been out for almost a year, maybe your box was just a bit tempermental and decided to reboot itself.

I was told yesterday by Sky that the last OTA stream for the Pace 2600 was on 9.2.07, and the next will be towards the end of the month. Mine is stuck on 3.2.11
