This was for Sky+ Boxes only and is not new.

The Poster in question already had the correct current Version, but had assumed it was new, because a glitch had occurred with his Box.

All is as it was.

Pace 2600ci software signal sent out last night at 21.55 GMT.

Those with older software should now have version 3.4.4b

Those that were fortunate enough to be aware of this apparent one off update that is, and were lucky enough to have their receivers connected and switched on at the time.

Unfortunately I wasn't, and Sky have not repeated the update since.

That is the latest for a Pace PVR3 and a Amstrad PVR3, or if you have a PVR2, that is also the latest.

EUREKA, got an auto update for my Pace 2600 last night, I have only been waiting 3 weeks, better late than never, it is now on 3.4.4 and I can at last get more than a handful of channels.

Yes I was pleased to get my Pace 2600C1 updated to 3.4.4 yesterday after 6mths of failed forced updates.

Even Pace said, "It would appear that your box may have a technical fault which is preventing
the download from working successfully. This is usually due to a problem with the on-board flash memory."

I took the advice of someone here to just connect the box (without card inserted) and leave well alone to sort itself out. I did this at lunch-time (left on ch501 in standby) and found it updated at 8pm.

Both my 2 Pace 2600C1 digiboxes were on channel 998 this morning. On checking they have both updated to EPG ver 3.5.3.

They have both been permanently connected to a Sky dish for several years and I have been waiting for what seems forever for this firmware update.

Yes, confirm that the auto update came last night. However the forced download stream is not currently present, as I tried to update a second 2600 box without success.

This update happened in the last 24 hours: hardly earth shattering, but for others to note.

surprised to plug a Pace model number 1.0.75 (will check model type shortly) back in after a few months gathering dust and find that os 1.2s4fh / epg 3.5.3 had appeared overnight. means that my radio channel-less box is now completely up to date.

can't find a model type on the back of the box... beige box as opposed to silver, card slots on right hand side as you look at it.

my grundig GDS200 updated the other day and am just checking to see if my pace 2200 will update on a forced download.

EDIT: yep the pace updated too.

In December I rescued a Panasonic TU-DSB31 dodgybox which had been in the loft for a few years and it's been on standby since then. I tried regular forced downloads for a month or two and then got bored. Has anyone successfully updated a similar model from a similar EPG version in the last few months? When was the last 3.2.11 dodgybox upgrade?

Gory details are:-

Manufacturer : PANASONIC
Model Number : 2.1.G
Version Number : 0F0301
Operating System Version : 1.2S4F3
EPG Software Version : 3.2.11

Cheers

I have exactley the same problem I currently have 4 Panasonic digiboxes all on old software, tried many times to force downloads to no avail.
As I am in the business of digibox repair I often repair digiboxes that when repaired find that software is an older version. On all other digibox makes they may take some time to upgrade to the latest version but do eventually.
Afraid Panasonic boxes after many attemps fail to upgrade.
As Sky operate the upgrade stream the answer to this is probably known by Sky. I do believe however that there is nothing wrong with these Panasonic boxes and the issue is purely software related(Sky operated).
Out of desperation I rang Sky technical and stated that I found an old Panasonic receiver in the garage and would like to use for Freesat but the software version was version 3.2.11. The person I spoke to said he would have to ask a supervisor, after a few minutes he stated that he had been informed that the only way that it would be upgraded was if I subscribed to a package of channels!
My own belief is that if you have a Panasonic digibox on old software it probably will be upgraded when sky do the next block software version download. So keep them dont bin them until that time.

Just to let folks know that I received an automatic EPG update for my Pace 2600C1 from 3.4.4b to 3.5.3 at 14:00 GMT today.

However, a second 2600C1 didn't auto update and is still on 3.2.11. Tried a forced download but that didn't work either.

The boxes have a certain amount of memory, and, the boxes were designed for about 200 channels, and now there are over 1000 services when including the interactive ones, so the boxes will run slower, as there are more things to manage.

Like a PC, too many programs: Slow.
