Anyway checked my software version and did a forced update which seemed to work but still have older version of software :
Panasonic
Model 5.1.1
Version No OFO501
OSV 1.254FH
EPG 3.5.3
Am i stuck on this version or will the box update itself ?”
There are two software data streams broadcast - one is the forced download software stream and is the last proven stable version of software. The second is the automatic download stream and is cycled through the versions for different makes and models of box.
A forced update will only ever update to the last stable version and is very unlikely to ever be the latest version - it is intended as a recovery stream if there is a problem with an update so as a customer can revert to a working version. The latest version for standard boxes is 3.6.4 and 3.5.3 is the previous version and will only update automatically if the box is left powered (standby is OK) and connected to a dish. The cycle of automatic updates is linked to the number of boxes of a particular version that are in circulation and as the Panasonic is now a fairly uncommon box you may wait quite a few weeks for it to update but it will eventually.
Why people panic over software versions amazes me if they are not having problems then be patient and let it update automatically
