I only wish it was as easy to upgrade the CPU as it is the HDD. Can you imagine how the EPG would zip along with a top of the line 2016 CPU instead of whatever is in the Sky box (I'm guessing a mid-level 2010 or older chip) ?
[Assuming the latest HD boxes capable of 2TB drives don't have an undisclosed issue with the latest software.] e.g. When I was invited to beta test a new build some years ago there was a beta release that was so ridiculously fast many testers complained it was too fast causing them to enter menus and functions they didn't expect, Sky 'slowed' down the software in the next release issued to testers... presumably by increasing the 'delay' between button press and menu options. My point is, I suspect that Sky just need to tweak the software a bit for 2TB HD boxes rather than the boxes not being capable of fully supporting the latest software. |

I could be wrong but I believe Sky dictate what the speed is for the software functions.
many testers complained it was too fast ... However, I'm talking about the speed with which the os does all its background stuff (which can cause delays). Clearly all software should be set to "wait" a human-friendly amount of time before taking actions and changing screens, etc, ... |

I noticed Sky seem to have finally fixed the clock change bug, whereby programmes recorded before the clock change would be shown as having been recorded one hour earlier, ie if you recorded a programme at 9.00pm on Friday the planner would now be showing it as having been recorded at 8.00pm. Not that it affected performance, but it's nice to finally see this fixed.

With the newest o/s I find that (sometimes) when I play a recording from a bookmark there is quite a pause before the video starts ... although the programme does "play" and you can hear it. It's probably a couple of seconds and just enough to be REALLY annoying if you are going back to a particular point in a recording (i.e. you often miss what you were trying to see/show whilst the box sorts itself out).

Fixes for this release Q003.001.45.00L (4lvm0pw) include;
- Addresses an issue affecting 1TB Sky Q boxes where no sound could be heard when connected to certain models of Samsung TV. - Addresses an issue where the box may crash under certain situations when watching Online Videos. - Resolves an issue when pairing a Sky Q Touch remote with a Q box where an on screen message would be displayed advising that pairing had been unsuccessful despite the pairing having completed successfully. - Resolves an issue where a green screen is displayed when the Q box starts up. - Resolves an issue where a Q box would switch in to standby randomly. - Addresses certain situations which would cause a Sky Q Mini box to reboot. - The Sky logo displayed in the bottom left of the Sky Q Guide had been updated to the new corporate style. Powerline has been turned to On for the Sky 2tb boxes, but still set to off for the Mini. |

I hope it fixes the problem causing the loss of programme images for non-Sky Broadband users. I have to reset my SkyQ every morning to get the pictures back.

My box doesn't seem to be getting the current software. It's still on R014.083.64.00P. I've found it on 998 a few times lately but no update. Think I'll have to force it

I've never noticed any interference as I don't use shortwave radio or whatever is affected, but something I read on another forum said that even with powerline set to off it was still active but just wasn't used. If so any 'interference' will be no worse.
