Does anyone know how the text numbers work on the network shows last night Greigsy asked listeners to text 63103 which I assumed was the Manchester number and tonight he asked them to text 61025 which I assume is Glasgow so I take it his show last night came from Manchester
I don't think the text codes are tied to a particular location - Boogie and Dingo use 63103 and broadcast from Clydebank.

Indeed, a google search for "61025 text" shows that Wave 105 and both MFR and West FM are using 61025, so I suspect it's simply just using the code that was available at the time - perhaps Greigsy just hadn't been setup with a new code at the time.

The text systems are web based so you can log into them at any location. His studio location does not have any affect on which text number he uses.

Is it possible that 61025 was originally the Clyde number? It would make sense as the frequency is 102.5. Good text numbers like that cost money and you tend to find that the big stations get a decent one that makes sense whereas the cheap stations just get whatever number is going.

I'm sure 61025 was originally Clyde 1 and 63103 originally Key 103. Now there is so much networking, using 64100 (I think originally Kiss 100, but generic enough) and a prefix would seem much neater, but hey ho.

Radio Borders has used 63103 for a number of years. Obviously whatever the number the Text "xyz" to number is the key part in where it gets sent to.

I used to love Inemand when it was Alex and Lucy, but when it was just Alex on his own it offered nothing unique to all the other networked evening shows so I stopped listening. And Stu Tolan really wasn't suitable for that role.. it was supposed to be to get the younger audience listening to their local station. Bauer managed to ruin a great idea imo.

Was the Original InDemand show presented by Rich &Licy, but when Rich went to Capital, Alex James moved from Real overnights to Key as his replacement

I sort of stopped listening to Forth 1 a few years back and now only listen to Forth 1 once in a while. I do at times still listen to Forth 2 but its not the same as it was since its now mostly networked.
A good few stations now seem to have to much evening and night time networked shows.
I am glad at times there is still a small few local stations that still have 80% of there out put local.

Somebody at Bauer may have a little explaining to do after todays Radio City broadcast farce.

Leanne and Dave Breakfast 0600hrs - 1000hrs as usual. In the last 30 minutes of the show Dave asks producer Andy, has he seen Rossie or Pez today and receives a negative response. Rossie had booked today off, I believe to go to Scotland as he had also mentioned earlier in the week that Pez Tellet was doing the show on Friday. Up to the top of the hour news bulletin, Dave says standby for the Top Ten at Ten possibly with Scott Hughes. Leanne and Dave complete the Top Ten at Ten hour and Scott duly takes over from 1100hrs. He explains he gets a call at 1000hrs from the "boss" asking him to come in asap and then rings "on air" Simon Greening and Debbie Mac asking them to deputise for him doing the Drivetime Show from 3pm. Both turn him down and eventually Scott end up finishing the mid morning slot, breaks for an hour and then returns for Drive Time and even ends up doing his own traffic news because Simmo is booked off for the day.

Apart from the obvious question of what happened to Pez, the other question must be surely there was a spare presenter available even if they did the Drive Time slot from Manchester or anywhere, or are things that tight that nobody else was available?

I would have thought Dave could have done drive time. Or they could have taken the 10am - 2pm show from key 103 as has happened in the past.

But it is strange what has happened today.

I actually thought Lee Butler was down on the website to cover for Rossie but it must be wrong

Right I will break down listenings post.

Today on Radio city
6am - 10am Leanne and Dave breakfast as usual

10am no presenter so Leanne and Dave did Top 10@10

11am Scott Hughes did the daytime show till 2pm but during the show phoned presenters on air to ask if they could do his home run show.

2pm Scott had break as Debbie mac was on doing Old Skool and Anthems

3pm Scott Hughes back on air doing the home run his usual slot on radio city and also has to do travel news as usual travel guy is off.

Possibly a break down in communications? Mistakes happen. And the rigmarole of ringing presenters "live on air"-just a ruse to make light of the slight schedule malfunction. Nothing more nothing less I'd guess.

It must have been a joke ringing Debbie Mac as she was obvious going to say no as she presents Drivetime on Key straight after her network show between 14.00 - 15.00. The only way she could present Drivetime on Radio City is to simulcast with Key, this would be management's decision and Debbie Mac would not have say whether her Drivetime show goes out on Radio City.
