Had another go at getting a request on the greatest hits. Decided to text this time to see if it would work and it did. I asked Paul too play The Piano Man by Billy Joel for me. I was so happy as its quite a long song I wondered if they would play it

Haha I was listening, nice choice. When I heard him say Billy Joel I was worried it would be we didn't start the fire again.

Cheers it is a beautiful song and Paul seemed to have enjoyed it after it had played(or maybe he was being nice). Dont know if he was that bothered about playing Grace - You Don't Own Me earlier in the show it seems to be on the playlist a lot. He seems to like an unusual or cheesy choice.

Im not a big fan of we didn't start the fire and I do love Billy Joel's music.

Has that been picked often?

George Bowie on Clyde 1 is off to London for the Arquvia awards so Greigsy will be covering Breakfast tomorrow. Not sure who is covering for Greigsy probably Gina.

On Forth 1 Grant Thomson is covering for Boogie as he is off to the awards as well with Arlene and Grant Stott whos show is being covered by Knoxy. Grant and Knoxy will be doing double shows on Forth 1 tomorrow.

Looks like Bowie boy beat Boogie as Clyde 1 got Station of the year. But Boogie got a Bronze award for him and Dingo for Radio Presenter of the Year (over 2 million TSA)

The 2016 Arqiva/PRS fir Music Commercial Radio Station of the Year (500,000 to 2m TSA)

Gold: Clyde 1
Silver: Hallam FM
Bronze: Metro Radio

Hat trick for Bauer in that category. They also won a few other awards and Absolute did very well.

All winners are at the link below

Stu and Kelly may have presented their last show together. Stu Tolan is on tomorrow morning. For all I know they might be back next week though.

I'm just thinking here but I think that Dan Kelly could get a networked show in the next year or so when Free Radio becomes integrated with the other stations.

I think there is a chance of Sam and Amy from Gem getting a network show. Possibly one of the Saturday morning slots e.g 6-9 or 9-12

So he has just moved to Drivetime on Radio Aire and now he is off on Holiday. Would it not have made more sense for them to have kept him on breakfast for an extra week then put him on drive after his holiday

Do all the city 1 stations have the same awful processing thats on Radio City, turning up the volume for the "Breakfast Butler" feature is all but impossible unless you want seriously distored and clipped audio. By contrast Juice FM processing was great and could full volume on the anthem hour was loud and clearly defined.

I think we are getting closer to GBX getting networked on a Saturday night as on Sunday from 7 till 10 there is a GBX Bank Holiday Special across the Scottish stations.

In England on Sunday night there is Floorfillers Bank Holiday Special in the same slot.

Also we have the bank Holiday Monday schedules for the City 2 stations

Scotland

6am Bally at Breakfast - Ally Bally
10am Guilty Pleasures with Alan Edwards
2pm Bob Malcolm
6pm Steve Jordan
10pm John Collins

England except Radio City 2

6am Sean Goldsmith
10am Guilty Pleasures with Andy Crane
2pm Paul Hayes
6pm As Scotland

Radio City 2

As England except

2 - 6pm Claire Simmo

10pm Pete Price - Late Night City

I was listening to Forth 1 this morning and it seems that Forth are opting out of boogie and Arlene on Saturday morning for a local show with Grant Stott live from a running event in the capital.

Also this morning Boogie spoke about George Bowie and GBX and Clyde 1 as the Hibs team phoned George last Saturday. I have never heard a Bauer station talk about another areas station before, it was also a good opportunity for them to promote the network GBX show on Sunday night

Yeah on Twitter she has said she will miss Tay fm but is looking forward to her new show with Paul.

That's an interesting move by Heart as I take it Paul and Lynne will be co presenters rather than Lynne being a travel presenter. Personally I think Heart would have been better having a Scottish daytime show with Lynne from 10-2 but that goes against how the heart network works. Also her and Paul worked at Real so they should be good and no one else has 2 presenters on Drive so it will be different

Mike Cass to depart Bauer after 18 months.

http://radiotoday.co.uk/2016/05/mike...ter-18-months/

i don't know if this is related to the recent RAJAR but either way the Bauer City 1 stations in England need major changes to stop the rot.

They seem to do.

I remember when Hallam FM's Omnia packed up recently so an Orban was put in the chain temporarily. It sounded great for a while. Then they put another Omnia in.

I know there isn't many fans of Paddy on this forum but I was wonder if anyone was able to confirm if he seems to play more older songs than other shows as Ewen and Cat on the Scottish stations seem too they have just played ELO Mr Blue sky which isn't a song that is usually heard on City 1 stations

It doesnt seem to be a bank Holiday in Aberdeen and Dundee as Northsound and Tay fm have normal shows with the usual playlist music from 6am - 6pm then join the network.

10am Craig Milne
2pm Andy James
6pm as Scotland schedule above

Tay FM
6am Wake Up With Webster
10am Micky Gavin ( Lynne Hoggan seems to have now left Tay FM and I think will start on Heart FM in the coming weeks)
2pm John Milne
6pm as Scotland schedule above

Local 2pm -6pm

Clyde 1 - Greigsy
Forth 1 - Gregor Runciman
MFR - Dan
Radio Borders - Keith Clarkson
West fm - Zoe Kelly
