Certainly Jimmy, Stu and Kelly were one of the best breakfast shows Aire have had and the show and Kelly are nowhere near as good, although drive time has improved since Connor Phillips left.

Aire are very lucky to have Scott Makin, who is definitely one of their best and most reliable presenters!

Probably why they put him on drive why promote breakfast show so heavily when stu and Kelly came to aire there more to the move of stu not sure tho and with Scott making wouldn't say he reliable should of kept SCOTT on drive

I think that the only logical thing is Kelly Peggy going to Key 103 and a completely new breakfast show for Radio Aire.”

Sacked.

I wish we still had Bob Malcolm on the BC2 stations in England, I really like some of the Scottish presenters- they have a different sound (not because they're Scottish) they sound more old school, than the English presenters and their personalities sound better than the English ones- does anybody else know what I mean?

Also I travelled upto Scotland from NorthEast on Saturday morning- and listened to Ally Bally on Forth2- some of the links sounded really local at times to Forth 2.

I turned over from Clyde 1 at 11 after the top 10@10 and it was lovely to hear Bob.

Phil Ray has tweeted about being at Hallam today. He seems to be there a lot lately

Is Clyde 1 running off the emergency tape? The music on FM doesn't match the online streams for either Clyde or Forth and the jingles don't match the current format (for one they mention the station frequency)…

Bad form to reply to your own post I know, but, in absence of stv viewer telling us of this shocking change to Bauer's output, local output came back about 9:15pm, with the tape cutting off unannounced and a 3/4 finished track playing.

Still, it was nice to hear a more varied playlist than the usual songs that they had probably already played 5 - 6 times and no ads… the jingle (well, sweeper) choice is certainly dated though, as, on reflection, wasn't "The best music mix" in use about 10 years ago?

You would surely have got Tay 2 and Northsound 2 on AM (same show) by at least Berwick Upon Tweed on the way up.

If you liked Bob's output you may also like Mike Riddoch's - he does the Sunday breakfast on BC2 Scotland.

I know you can get Northsound 2 and Tay 2- and know it's the same show all all Scottish BC2 stations! Tay2 though sounded very fuzzy even near Edinburgh, (Firth of Forth) I tried Clyde 2 too- but that was just fuzz, I don't know how far north you have to be from Ednburgh for that to kick in on a car AM radio?

Despite it being 236 miles north of where I live I can get Northsound 2 crysal clear most days down here- and have got it as far as Middlesborough before Crystal clear in the A19!

I will have to listen to Mike Riddich one day but am never up early on Sunday mornings as always do nightshift Saturday.

Jordan North leaving Rock FM for an opportunity in London, presumably Radio 1.

Very worrying for Bauer, losing first James Hall and now Jordan in a matter of days really, I think they were both young, energetic and talented presenters who could of been the next generation of presenters on their stations. I think in the case of the former, they definatley did not accelerate his promotion quick enough- if they had put him on Rock FM and perhaps North on breakfast, it could of been like Rock FM/Radio city where you had the likes of Rick Houghton, Glen Hunt, Kev Seed and Scott Hughes all coming through.

Good look to Jordan, big blow for Rock, Ditchy of course going to Drive there which is a great appointment, I suggested in another thread Stu Elmore for breakfast if not, I would try and get Glen Hunt back on board.

The problem was caused by the IRN3 satelitte feed failing to switch over to Global, instead remaining on UTV as they are connected before the chart for their networked afternoon show. The fix was an ISDN link between Capital and Signal 1.

That must be an unusual situation for a station to have 3 high profile DJ moving/ leaving.

Changes at Rock FM:

Steve and Janine at Breakfast - did Key 103 Friday nights until Floorfillers Chilled replaced it (married couple!)

Fiona Sadler for Stu Tolan

David Ditchfield (Ditchy) for Jordan North

Fiona especially is an excellent signing, she's certainly earned a full time slot after all her cover in the last year!
