This was to be expected, given how bad Rock FM's last Rajar was!

Changes at Rock FM:

Steve and Janine at Breakfast - did Key 103 Friday nights until Floorfillers Chilled replaced it (married couple!)

Fiona Sadler for Stu Tolan

David Ditchfield (Ditchy) for Jordan North

Fiona especially is an excellent signing, she's certainly earned a full time slot after all her cover in the last year!

The problem was caused by the IRN3 satelitte feed failing to switch over to Global, instead remaining on UTV as they are connected before the chart for their networked afternoon show. The fix was an ISDN link between Capital and Signal 1.
Gosh I remeber that problem like it was yesterday.

The last time they did that was back in 2011 with Greame Smith and Jude.

Rock FM seems to be a mess. I really cant see a husband and wife team working at breakfast.

It must be almost unheard of to have all your DJs leave at the same time.

It seems there are lots of other changes and departures at Bauer stations – I wonder why?

I imagine because most of them are in Rajar freefall.

But I'm not convinced presenter changes alone will work - that's just rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. The network needs fundamental change.

I suppose that they're rearranging the schedule to also accommodate the Free Radio brand. Some of Free's network presenters could find home on other Place 1 stations, it'll be like what global did with some of the presenters on the Galaxy brand when Capital replaced it.

Also Free ain't doing too well either? Rajar wise.. I think that the music policy change on Free is similar to Bauer? What's the difference, music wise between place 1 and free network?

Today is a year since Ewen and Cat started on Bauer City 1 Scotland. I think Bauer made a good decsion getting rid of Paddy McGuiness, as even though I thought his show was funny I think Ewen and Cat relate better with Scottish listeners.

There are now 2 Golden Hours on the Bauer City 2 Scotland stations.

One of them at 9am, and another at 2pm with one featured year on each slot.

And also the High School Hits slot on the Ally Bally show is moving to 12pm.

Yet more changes! What is going on here? Has anyone also noticed that Scotland and England programming is now all virtually separate? (what happened to the much heralded 'better as a network' brand?) I’m reading that more & more people seem to leaving the Bauer local stations to go elsewhere. It seems to be careering out of control programme-wise. Time for a change at the top I think !

I take it the request show wasnt getting enough requests.

Bauer realised that listeners wanted local shows so that is why they are separate. Personally I dont see a problem with then having separate shows in Scotland and England.

Radio City 2 golden hour is now also one year rather than two half hours, no idea if there is a second as my only listening is in the car on the way to and from work.

It take it the request show has been scrapped on all the city 2 stations

Just listened to some Radio City stuff on aircheck downloads from the 90's and it's no surprise all the listeners have gone. I wasn't a fan of Kev Seed but Radio City today simply has no energy or feeling.

The Scotland and England weekday daytime schedule, with Ally Bally shunted to Scotland drivetime was not a success.

Allys style of show doesnt suit drivetime he is so much better on 10 - 2.

They can't win. At the introduction of networking people were complaining that all the specialist shows were going.
