There's a bit of a presenter shortage at The Hits at the moment. James Hall doesn't have a replacement and Josh Collins has been on daytimes since James left and that's has left the evening show in automation. This week, both Tom Green and Olivia Jones are off. Fat is on breakfast this week and most likely also next week. He returns to overnights on 29th August but we don't know if that's Scotland only or also England. This week Josh Collins is on drivetime and Michael Blades is on daytimes. There's a Callum covering for Olivia on Sunday afternoon, I think it's most likely Callum Gallacher.
Going forward, it may be good to keep overnights as they are at the moment and have Fat on Sunday to Thursday evenings on The Hits. As there's no late show, it would be good to extend the evening show by an hour to 19:00-23:00. Then the schedule would be breakfast with Tom Green, daytimes with Josh Collins, Olivia Jones at drivetime and Fat on evenings. As an alternative, promote Jamie Lee from weekend breakfast to a weekday show or he could do Monday to Wednesday late shows in addition to weekend breakfast.”
Yeah Coley was on air today, and Debbie's on air at 3 as normal. Not sure when, or even if its happening, as the schedule for this week initially showed them swapping shows, but then changed back to normal. It could be happening in a few weeks maybe if they've got a holiday coming up and swap after that? Not sure, but the schedule has changed back to normal now.
The Hits is definitely a problem, and a lot of shows seem to be recorded. Michael Blades on daytime must be recorded this week as he's doing Radio Aire breakfast also. I can't say I ever listen to it, but could definitely see Fat moving there, especially as he's been taken off England overnights. The move to put Jack Wood on in England could be a trial to see if he can replace Fat across the whole network once he moves to The Hits?
