Dave Kelly on the 2 O'Clock Anthems covering for Darren Proctor this week, presumably won't cover the Saturday Anthems show as his Floorfillers is on the Saturday night. Wonder if he's coming from Manchester or Liverpool?

Wow, that's a shocker, West FM in a bit of a mess then. You'd assume Fraser Thomson doesn't want the 10-2 show permanently, because he did XFM Scotland breakfast so is a big name who West FM would want to keep if they could?
Michael Smith doing the overnights for 4 weeks, this being week 3, wonder if they could bring him back, or maybe even Fiona Shields who seems to have disappeared? Maybe Fraser could be tempted by breakfast. Colin took over breakfast from Alan Shaw so I think Alan will return to the home run once a new presenter is found. If Fraser does a weeks cover for breakfast then I would assume he is being tested for it. I dont think Michael Smith will be back on West FM daytime. I think he could end up permantely doing the network overnight show If Fat gets a full time slot on The hits. Then again Fat is another presenter that could be considered for a show on West FM. Then as you say Fiona Shields could also be considered. |

Fiona came from West FM, so it would perhaps be unusual for her to go back on BC1 at the station she was on before taking her network show (and then vanishing) - and, as for Fat, I doubt it… |

You seem to have a certain dislike for Michael Smith, which is oddly puzzling.

Again Fat is due a bigger show but I suppose the Hits would be a better move than West fm. |

I had a lot of time for Colin McArdle - I remember hearing him on weekend breakfast and wondering why on earth he wasn't doing weekdays. Excellent personality presenter who knew the area well. I wouldn't read much into that switch apart from the fact there's probably more money to be made being a car salesman, so fair play to him.
I'd like to see Fraser get a full-time gig on West FM - he's a good personality DJ who's been somewhat unlucky to be at the end of a raw deal several times over now, including XFM Scotland twice over. |

He must have been working some hours if he was doing the breakfast show and selling cars. There is no way Colin was on the same money as e.g Bowie or Boogie but I doubt it was peanuts but someone with a better knowlege of Radio wages can answer this better. But best of Luck to Colin he will be missed. Quote:

He is an excellent presenter but I think Bauer will be keeping him as a cover presenter till they find out if Clyde Rocks has got the FM licence as I think he will be getting a show on there. But if clyde Rocks doesnt get the licence he would be good for West fm

So lets assume it was £150 * 5 shifts a week * 48 weeks a year £36,000 a year. I briefly did car sales myself after coming out of radio - and if you can be bothered to work weekends and bank holidays, and put in the effort with all the bonuses, I earned around £50,000 in the year I did it. The other thing is - you get to a point when you work in radio where you realise you are not going to be a huge star. And opportunities are limited. And you don't want to have to constantly move around the country in search of your next gig if you are dropped at a moments notice. and the money isn't great. So - fair play to him to leave to concentrate on a much safer, better paying career. |

Only my opinion, I would bring back Darren Procter to 10 - 1 slot back to key 103 and I also bring back 10-1 pm slot and 1-4 pm slot
Plus what about Adam catteral doing breakfast and toolan doing drive , just an idea So I go with 6-10 am - Adam catteral breakfast 10 - 1pm - Darren Procter 1pm - 4 pm - debbie Mac 4pm - 7pm - Mike toolan drive 7pm - 10pm - Adam Cole 10pm - 2am - 2am - 6am - Anyway just an idea |

I'm surprised Darren Proctor still gets an hour on the City1 network, hes far more suited to his City 2 role....
