Why do Bauer block access to their online radio stations to non UK listeners? I cant access Planet Rock or Clyde anymore online!
They say on shows that you can listen to the greatest hits anywhere in the whole wide world. But you can't unless you have a VPN on your smartphone or tablet set to the UK. The sreaming bauer url's of their stations from tunein, I can't add the same url's to yourmuze.fm. And I appear to have lost those Bauer stations with working url's I added recently on yourmuze.fm. Bauer must have changed the server. It's just a nuisance. |

Waited a wee bit longer to judge so as to try and be objective… Quote:
So almost a month after the BC1 network changes, just wondered what people are thinking of them?
… Floorfillers Chilled - especially on a Friday, excellent, one of my favourite shows, So Wright is a great presenter. As for the play list, unfortunately it does seem very "safe" as both the Friday (presented by Ryan Borthwick in Scotland) and Saturday shows have a playlist which plays *a lot* of the same songs which have already been on BC1 over the course of the day (Jonas Blue or Mike Posner anyone?). It has some promise, but, the playlist really could do with more tweaking, or, perhaps, they could actually be brave and trust the DJs to run those shows without the relatively static playlist (which was one of the problems SNE had IMO). Weekend overnights seem to be rotating between Chris Felton, Ivan D'Sa (who is excellent) and Josh Collins at the minute.

Try using the URL http://icy-e-bl-04-cr.sharp-stream.com:8000/clyde1.aac - if that doesn't work, change the file extension to .m3u or .mp3
I tried radiofeeds to get the streaming url for Tay 2, and it is not recognised as a valid streaming url on yourmuze.fm. Quite why the Bauer managing director would go out of his way to check websites like yourmuze.fm for feeds and then order a change of server for the stations that means online on a mobile or tablet, you can only listen to their stations via official apps on apple or android and stop people being able to listen to them on other mobile or tablet devices. |

Annoying, isn't it? EDIT: Just to add some context - yourmuze.fm state that their servers are in the Netherlands (see the FAQ "Why can't I listen to radio stations from Clear Channel?" on their FAQ page), so it would certainly be conceivable that this could be the cause, i.e. geolocking is in force and requests from IP addresses outside the UK are being rejected. |

Personally I just dont really like Michael Smiths style on the radio. He never covered breakfast when he was on West fm so I cant see him getting that gig or going back to the one he has just left. So my only thinking is he could get the network overnight show in Scotland.
I know it would be strange for her to return but she was a very good presenter. Again Fat is due a bigger show but I suppose the Hits would be a better move than West fm. |

So Wright is okay, but, the fact she cannot pronounce "Clyde" in her split links is a bit jarring. Interestingly, it seems there is some confusion as to who is actually covering this slot sometimes, as, last night's link on Floorfillers Chilled said it would be Chris Felton (who is on the schedule), but, it was actually Ivan D'Sa. I actually find Ivan to be the better of the two, but, I'm an opinionated git. ![]() ![]() I listen on Key to the show, so haven't heard her pronounce Clyde, how does she say it? Personally after losing Old Skool and Anthems which is missed, Dave Kelly's show is good but not as good (though it was a hard act to follow), Floorfillers Chilled has actually grown to become my favourite show on the network. I agree there could be a bit more variety but I think they've got the vibe of the show spot on, some really good old school in there, mixed in with some fresher stuff and some songs from a few years ago you don't really hear anymore, and So Wright's warm personality makes it an excellent listen for me. Yeah the weekend overnights have had Chris listed for weeks, they don't seem to update that part of the schedule. Ivan is for sure the best they've had covering since Jack moved, wouldn't surprise me though if they kept rotating with maybe a few more BC3 presenters doing it. The only show I'm not particularly keen on is Mike and Kelly on a Saturday morning. |

New jingles at TOH on Clyde 1 today with a more refined version of the "sonic" - perhaps this is a sign of things to come given the upcoming integration of the Free stations and Gem.

I think thats the reason why, have the other City 1 stations had new news jingles.?
For example, Clyde was the first station to test the 'new' website format that was introduced network wide almost a year before the other stations got it (Forth got it a few months later, along with branding which was uncannily similar to Clyde, before every station was rebranded into the current format). |

Dumb question I know, but the bland package Bauer rolled out on BC1 isn't great so there is a lot that could be better… |

Ex west fm presenter Michael Smith is still covering the overnight show for Fat for another week as Fat is still in Manchester doing cover on The Hits station.
Also John Collins is Covering for Kenny Campbell on Westsound Dumfries this week as Kenny is doing Breakfast. Mike Richardson the content controller on west fm was doing the home run this afternoon |

The only show I'm not particularly keen on is Mike and Kelly on a Saturday morning. Its beyond belief that Bauer are allowing stations like Key 103 & Radio Aire to fail to this extent. I see Radio Aire still doesn’t have permanent presenters on the Breakfast Show! How long can that continue? It's not surprising to see their listening figures plummeting! And if listeners leave so do the advertisers!.... Surely Senior Managers must be on their last chance now or have Bauer just given up? |

I'd be fairly certain its not popular in Manchester either - especially if its expanded!
