Also not too sure if it affected the rest of the Network as well.

I think Bauer are waiting for the next radio deregulation to happen, which could see all Free Radio licenses merged, only having 12 hours from Birmingham and the rest from Manchester.

Ah this could be the reason why there was technical problems on floor fillers last night after 7pm the show came from Metro Radio, have they done networking there before?

Well, well, the switch from local to the network on Radio City went to pot, after the 7pm news Friday night floor fillers started.
It's a joke that at 7pm on a Friday night Liverpool has no local station playing tunes that resonate within its area. It wasn't all that long ago we had two great competing stations but such is the way radio is run these days all it wants to be is the occasional bit of background noise for car journeys and shops.

Why do city continue to employ lee butler to play the standard play list at pm of a weekday and some other standard playlist Sunday rubbish. Get rid of the crap 2pm weekday optout and do something special at the weekend.

They really should have poached anton powers back and gone for it rather than roll over and let capital enter the market as they have done.

Heads should be rolling at just how poorly this once great station is being run.

May play the odd different track but more often than not seems to be what's on rock. Either way it's a waste.

Exactly, I don,t know what they have done to Radio City, I used to listen to their dance output every Friday and Saturday night, with the likes of Pez Tellet, Anton Powers, etc, they also did live night club broadcasts as well until about 4 am they carried on being local on a Friday nights and Saturday nights for a bit whilst the other bauer stations where doing their shite networking until the networking hit Radio City.

Well now its been announced I think Fraser Thomsons future will become more apparant as I think Bauer were lining him up for Clyde rocks but now I think he will stay at West fm.

I don't generally follow this thread, so perhaps this has already been mentioned.

I was in the Metro Radio area earlier today and listened to the station. The show on air sounded local - lots of mentions of Metro, local place names, local events and so on during links.

I was under the impression that all Metro and TFM programming was shared, but this didn't sound like the usual split links with the ID inserted. Have these stations started to run separate programming?

I think on a Saturday afternoon they sometimes have different shows due to football updates.

The city is calling out for this again, What is the actual strategy at Bauer, the whole thing is a mess and it shows in it's output, sloppily up together voicetracks over boring montotonus chart songs, even back in the day of Friday Night Kiss in the early 2000's the programmes where put together much more professionally and slickly.

Some talented jocks on there in Scott Hughes, and Dave Kelly but the format of the station is terrible as the quick links have taken away any personality, really sad state of affairs from a station that used to be the sound of liverpool.

It sounds like Darren Lee is returning to Free Radio weekends. He presented Dan Kelly's early afternoon show yesterday and the schedule shows that he would usually be doing afternoons on Sundays. I say he is returning but I think the last time he was on 96.4FM it was BRMB!

Today the schedule seems a bit messed up because of the Robbie Williams show. It seems that Darren might have covered Andy Goulding's (now confirmed for Birminghan drivetime) early breakfast and extended it by an hour. I think it may be pre-recorded but he's a decent presenter. With the special show 09:00-12:00 it means that the local shows must be 12:00-16:00. As ever the Big Top 40 runs until 19:00 before the evening show with an unknown presenter. The Free Radio website makes no reference to Sunday evenings at the moment.

Not sure what I make of this Robbie Williams special. Very obvious its pre recorded and other presenters were saying a few days ago he wasnt going to be live. Think it would have been better to have got Robbie to do an interview with Ewen and Cat and Paddy for Scotland and England respectively.

Do we know if that includes Gem?

I'm not so bothered about weekdays as the current wind down thing is quite dreary for 7.00 in the evening, but the Anthems show they have on Sunday night is excellent
