No article. My friend goes to university with her manager Mairead's sister. Florence was asked to do the Voice shortly after her Glastonbury appearance but gracefully turned it down.

Not sure who else was asked before Paloma and Boy George got the slot, my home girl only mentioned Florence.

Boy George? :s

Well, I'm unsure where The Voice UK can go from the latest series.

They really put so much effort into ensuring Stevie McCrorie got a top 10 single and succeeded...but it dropped out of the chart the following week. There has been no mention on what he's doing - and with Stevie already having singles on iTunes I'm surprised nobody thought of just re-releasing one of them.

Doesn't bode well for future releases. With The Voice UK, whoever wins needs to be in the public domain endlessly after winning so that people don't forget who they are after a month.

Paloma Faith should be excellent, she is truly mad as a hatter and hopefully will go down as a real triumph for the show - even if it's only to provide Paloma with her first solo #1 single in early 2016.

I have a lot of time for Florence. It doesn't surprise me that she turned it down.

Never seemed to be in it for the celebrity. Good for her.

It would ruin her credibility a lot. She is considered quite alternative. As soon as you start doing tv shows like The Voice that goes down the pan. Let the music speak for itself. Don't become a celebrity.

Good. I am glad. I think there are too many artists these days who think after a couple of years in the charts, they suddenly are the front of all knowledge and think they can sit behind a desk and dish out comments to people.

No one on the voice apart from Tom Jones was ever really in their right to mentor people. Rita Ora has one album to her name but is floating from talent show to talent show as if she thinks she can find the next big thing.

I have said Paloma should have been there from day one. Really pleased she said yes instead of Florence.

I also think George will amaze people. He mentored on American Idol and was it seems brilliant.

You're right. I dislike these type of reality shows, and was disappointed to hear Paloma
is going to be on "The Voice". Good for Florence!

Paloma said some time ago that she didn't want to do it as she said she didn't have the right to criticise others. I assume the BBC convinced her otherwise.

Why does everyone believe this? My friend goes to Uni with her managers sister! What a load of rubbish.

Hey Walter. Have you finished fishing Virgin out of free stuff yet?

True. And also she has a thriving career as a touring artist. These type of shows are for artists who have kind of declined and they are using them to revive people's interests in them.
She would have to clear her touring schedule to do it and so she would probably end up losing money to do it. Wouldn't make sense for her.

Thank goodness! Florence is too good for such a pathetic show. The Voice is for people like Rita Ora who will do anything for attention and don't really care about music at all.

Ah, that's a shame. I'm a fan of The Voice, and I'm a fan of Florence. She'd have brought a lot to the table as a coach.

Ridiculously unbelievable. She's not a personality, and hardly someone entitled to be giving feedback on people's vocals considering how woefully out of tune and shouty her voice is.

So basically you think Florence is below The Voice? #1 album in the US and UK. When that happens to anyone on the Voice including the judges let me know...

How good would she be as a judge on a singing competition? She's an awful singer, she's either shouting or if she's quieter she's got a quiver in her voice.

*awaits the backlash*

No backlash but I think she's a good singer. It all comes down to opinion and taste I guess.

I've never liked hence why i'm happy i don't need to look at her or listen to her on my TV or the radio. I'm sure she makes money from music in other ways.
