All she does is poke her nose in and booze.

Can't believe she and Andrea were drinking spirits during the day.

She is just equally as unpleasant and a gossip. Just that she acts like this fake, caring neighbour. She probably enjoys stirring it up.

She's quite a nasty character and the actress is poor.

I don't know why Norris goes anywhere near her when all she does is insult him. She also treated Dennis like crap.

We were all watching Corrie tonight and thinking the same thing. It was actually out-of-character for Rita really, it felt like whoever wrote tonight's eps wanted Malcolm Hebden but had to make do with Barbara Knox.

I thought that too. She normally berates Norris for that kind of nosiness.

She was sprinting line Usain Bolt down those cobbles last night trying to catch up with Leanne and Simon so she could stick her oar in! Nosey old cow!

Watching Rita lurching around the Street last night sniffing for gossip reminded me of a scene from the early 70s where Rita throws Hilda Ogden out of the Kabin for spreading rumours about Elsie Tanner.

At the end of the scene Mavis says something along the lines of 'You've got to feel sorry for her' suggesting that Hilda's life is so dull and empty that the only pleasure she gets is spreading gossip.

How the tables have turned, eh Reet?

I agree with you (as usual!) but what else can we expect from Corrie these days?

If the current team excel at anything it's completely changing the personality of Corrie's characters to suit whatever scene or storyline happens to be in their head at the time! It's killing the enjoyment for long term viewers who've watched these characters formed over the course of many years!! The famiiarity of the characters & the fact the viewer can feel he/she knows them personally has always been one of the great joys of Corrie for me over the years!!

She has been a bitch for ages. I am also sick of her annoying "caring" voice, just sounds so phony. It is either down to bad acting or Rita does truly relish in the gossiping.

At least the posts here referring to her as a drunk make up for it.

Yes, that's a good point.
$$whilst Rita has been getting consistently worse over the last couple of years, this was quite out of character and more something Norris would do.
