Not necessarily artists who've passed away, but those who've not released music in years and have pretty much disappeared or are pursuing other things now. Or those who are still in music but are more underground these days. Some might have enjoyed mainstream success only to then fade.

For me:

Samantha Mumba (released some great R&B-pop tunes in the early 00s)
Daniel Bedingfield (a pretty big name between 2001-03)
Natasha Bedingfield (Unwritten was an excellent album)
Shola Ama (one of the best UK R&B offerings)
Des'ree (really feel good music, I even enjoyed the lyrics of her song Life despite its criticisms)

Jamelia. I remember she was really big in 2003-04 with Thank You and Superstar. Then the next album underperforms slightly and that's it.

As a TV personality she's a bit annoying, but she was a good popstar and had some really great songs. I loved her last album Walk With Me.

Mika - hes doing X Factor Italy just now
Rogue Traders - their biggest UK hit was Voodoo child

Nelly furtado (last album didn't do well)
Snow patrol (been ages since they had anything out)

I have Walk With Me on CD. Such a slept on album which is a shame because it had so much potential. It gave her two top 10 singles though.

Go and Hustle are brilliant tracks.

Gabriella Cilmi - She made a name for herself with 'Sweet About Me' in 2007 at just 16 years old, but didn't really push on from then, even though she released some great material. 'Defender' from her follow up album was a fantastic song.

Go:Audio - Pop punk band released 'Made Up Stories' in 2008, and it was brilliant. They released a very good debut album, and then split up not long after. A massive shame, I really liked them.

Sum 41 - Had an album in 2011 that completely flew under the radar and haven't released anything since, mainly due to lead singer Deryck Whibley being hospitalized by alcoholism. Hopefully he'll get back on track and release new stuff soon, Sum 41 hold a lot of nostalgia for me.

Pendulum - Not released an album since 2010. Apparantly the lead singer's heart isn't in it anymore.

BIB - I miss the Bedingfield's so much. 'If Your Not The One' is one of my favourite songs of all time.

Also:
Delta Goodrem - so so talented. Have always loved her music.
Lene Marlin - Still love 'Sitting Down Here', she had a such a sweet voice. Haven't heard about her in years.
Emma Bunton as a solo artist - her 60s music was fantastic.

Beth Rowley. After a brilliant debut album in 2008 and a few odd tracks here and there she is still to release a 2nd album! She's a great singer and I'd love to hear more from her.

I still miss Girls Aloud. My favourite girl group ever. Their Xenomania songs are unique pop classics and I could never tire of listening to them. Wish they were still around making more music.

I miss James Morrison too and George Michael. Plus Late Of Their Pier's Fantasy Black Channel album was sheer brilliance! It's a shame they never released more music.

This might be really really random, but i really liked Tracy Shaw (Maxine from Coronation Street) as a popstar, Ridin' high is just one of those massive massive awful cheese fests from the 90s you just love to hate, but i shamelessly think its fabulous! I loved her, i even loved her awful cover of Lonnie Gordons Happening All Over Again.

On a serious note, i really miss the band Do Me Bad Things from the mid 2000s, they were a tad like The Darkness and Scissor Sisters mixed up together, catchy songs, brilliant debut album called "Yes" just didnt really connect with the British public saw them live a few times, and they were fantastic!

Would love to know if theres other fans of DMBT on here

I'd add Lucie Silvas to my list too. She had a few notable singles in the early/mid 00s. Her debut It's Too Late from 2000 under performed but is sheer brilliance.

That was the case that's why they formed Knife Party but then he sung on the last single, he couldn't help himself, they will be back, Knife Parry debut album first then a new Pendulum.. If you don't know Knife party this was the track.'Begin Again' he admitted to Zane Lowe that it is a prophetic title

I'd like to hear another album from Nicola Roberts. If it's only half as good as her first, it'd still be worth it. Ditto NSync's J C Chasez. His first was brilliant to my ears also. But, as with Nicola's, ultimately it bizarrely flopped, so maybe we won't get another.

Nicola Roberts - one brilliant album ('Cinderella's Eyes') and then ...

The Upper Room - one brilliant album ('Other People's Problems') and then split and gone.
