Having had to succumb to wearing aids, I found using a mobile phone difficult with a lot of background noise.
You can buy neck loops which wirelessly transmit sound to hearing aids when in t-coil mode. However, it is not always convenient to wear a neck loop.
I knew some mobile phones eg by Doro could transmit in T-coil mode. This facility on normal smartphones seemed to be on high end devices only.
However I was pleasantly surprised to find my humble moto g (1st gen) had that facility. You have to turn option on, and press phone againt hearing aid.
I can take calls easily now in quite high background noise environments. It takes a little practice to position the phone but once you suss that it's great.
