TalkTalk YouView Box:
I do hope that this is the right place to post this and if not ask the team if you can place it in the right forum but last year or the year before, TalkTalk caught my Dad in Tesco and despite us being with them already they were pushing their YouView box which they provided at not extra cost.
The problem is not only do we get emails promoting the service but I am just not happy with it as the box just is so rubbish, I have connected myself from our router a cable from our lounge to my Bedroom so that I can get a solid internet connection in my bedroom but I am not up to running cables all around the house for this and that and should not have to. We have Sky in both my bedroom and the lounge and are able to access Catch-Up tv services on both boxes using Powerline adaptors with no problems, but as for TalkTalk's YouView box and I have tried several adaptors as well as using the box in the lounge, Mum and Dad's bedroom and now the conservatory with the same old problem of not being able to access an catch-up services. This tells me that the technology is absolutely crap, and I even said to Mum and Dad tonight that next week they should contact TalkTalk to as good as send the box back as if we can use a Powerline adaptor to get Catch-Up tv on our Sky boxes with no problem then why can't we with TalkTalk?. Has anyone else found these to be crap when it comes to connecting to Catch-Up/OnDemand in the same way?. Also do TalkTalk do different boxes and has the technology improved in any way?. I look forward to reading your views. |

there's a youview talk talk forum where you'll probably get a better response
I've got no problems with catch up and netflix on my box they work perfectly. I'd get them to replace the box |

Have you tried an ethernet cable with the box and portable / small TV near the router just so you can eliminate the problem being with the powerline adaptors or not? If that works then try it with powerline adaptors in the same location / line of sight.
Not familiar with TalkTalk / Huawei but many BT / Humax Youview users have no problems with using powerline adaptors although I prefer the solidity of a physical connection. |

With an ethernet cable making the internet connection I have no problem with my TT YouView box. It used to be a bit sluggish but even that's improved with the new remote control they've recently sent out.
